We had been to the restaurant during restaurant week and wanted to share our find with friends. We got there early and stopped off at the bar and were greeted by exceptional staff and good drinks. Unfortunately, our restaurant experience was less than desired. It seemed an off night for the entire dinner. Although she tried hard, the waitress was subbing for some one and not familiar with the menu and sometimes slow with drink refills, being able to recommend wine, bringing food in order, and other table service. Food which were labeled as shareable for dinner were brought as appetizers and while good, would have been better served alongside the entrees. My husband got the octopus which was labeled a shareable and it turned out to be a single grilled tentacle that was not cut or prepared to share. The main entrees were disappointing as the steak tartar very over seasoned, the duck fairly bland, and my salmon with veggies was grilled too dry and very black across the top and the skin. Even the pot de crème was pedestrian. We may be back because the location is good, the hotel lobby very scenic and modern and the bar is great (although noise seeped across the open area into the restaurant). But our Friday night dinner was mostly mediocre. To top it off, the valet app required a room number to complete the retrieval of our car. Since we weren’t staying at the hotel, we did not have a room. We had to wait outside for the valet to retrieve our car.
