    Everything was perfect. The service was impeccable and the food was awe-inspiring. The grilled honey nut squash was excellent as was the focaccia and ricotta. The ricotta filled pasta was amazing!! We had the contamar fish and the walleye and we were blown away. I love that the chef uses local fish instead of flying in some Chilean Seabass or something. It was all so delicious. I can’t wait to go back. After living in San Francisco for 18 years, I moved to Milwaukee recently. I was a little worried about the culinary scene, but Birch is absolutely at the top of the restaurant game in every way. They would fit right in and even stand out in SF or Napa.

    We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. The dishes and wines were explained perfectly and paired nicely! The service was outstanding! Definitely coming back !

    Poached lobster was outstanding. Fennel salad, likewise. Strip steak for two slightly overcooked. Service overall was the best in MKE!

    Elevated but not overly fussy food. Great favors and thoughtful presentation. Great space and attentive service. Nice bar as you enter with great bartenders. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. So we always UBER.

    Birch remains our favorite restaurant in Wisconsin. Hard stop. Excellent food and service. When you consider what you can spend ordering in, the value for a meal a Birch is great. We will be back. 10/10.

    Birch is the perfect marriage of clean, rich flavors with restrained, unpretentious presentation that may look simple at first but is actually a superior distillation of elevated technique, great sourcing, disciplined editing, clear vision and fantastic creativity. You will be thinking about the crunchy farm vegetables, the Contramar fish, and the pastas the next day.

    I recently visited Birch on a work trip and decided to sit at the chef’s counter. What a great experience, the food was superb and watching it being prepared was fascinating. Would definitely visit here again, well worth it.
