The Bird in Hand is a friendly independently owned and operated pub in the village of Mayford. Whether you are looking for a casual drink, formal get together, delicious Sunday roast or a beer in our lovely garden area we have you covered.
We offer a great selection of beers, wine & cocktails that can be paired with our fresh seasonal menus served in our formal dining area, casual bar area or large sunny garden. We are proud to have a passionate and dedicated team who are here to help you enjoy your experience with us.
We are dog friendly in our bar and garden areas.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children of any age may dine with us but must vacate the premises by 8pm.

    Mist impressed. It was our wedding anniversary lunch with friends and we had a great time . The food was excellent. Good portion size and beautifully cooked. Met with husband’s dietary requirements with no fuss and bother. The service was excellent, friendly and eager to help. We will be back to sample the legendary Sunday lunch!

    We'd booked at the bar but on arrival asked if there was space in the restaurant and there was. Food was excellent as was the service

    We both chose the turkey meal which was good. A couple of things that could make it better, being a little more stuffing/pancetta and everything needed to be much warmer. Service and ambience were great.

    Outstanding Sunday lunch with family. Amazing service, and roast turkey was one of best I've had in a restaurant. Lovely selection of vegetables, with a massive Yorkshire pudding!! Shame none of us had room for dessert!

    Lovely choice of different meals. Even for 1 of our party who is vegetarian - they had 3 or 4 different options which is so unusual
