The Bird in Hand is a friendly independently owned and operated pub in the village of Mayford. Whether you are looking for a casual drink, formal get together, delicious Sunday roast or a beer in our lovely garden area we have you covered.
We offer a great selection of beers, wine & cocktails that can be paired with our fresh seasonal menus served in our formal dining area, casual bar area or large sunny garden. We are proud to have a passionate and dedicated team who are here to help you enjoy your experience with us.
We are dog friendly in our bar and garden areas.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children of any age may dine with us but must vacate the premises by 8pm.

    An excellent experience. The service was very good attentive without being obtrusive. The food was well presented and tasted delicious. There was a great offer on for two courses for £19.50 which was a bargain. There was a good ambience in the restaurant and quite busy for a Monday lunchtime. We will definitely be visiting again.

    Normally we always have a good meal. The soup was tasteless, the hummus was thick and stodgy. I had duck for main which arrived cold. Sent it back and it then returned chewy and not nice at all. The steaks were very chewy too. Such a shame as it’s put us off going back there for food.

    Friends lunch on a Friday. Lucky we booked as the restaurant filled up soon after we arrived. Great menu choices. All food was freshly prepared, tasty and well presented. I ordered two starters instead of a main course and it was a bit too much food.

    We decided to eat in the garden today as the weather so lovely. Champagne well chilled, Food was delicious and service excellent. Looking forward to our next visit.
