   Four of us had lunch today unfortunately only a Christmas menu which was limited and no fish courses available though listed on the menu. The burger and chips came out on a very small rectangular plate with a very small little tin of chips which cost 21.50 not even a little salad with it. I complained to the server about the portion size and she brought another tin of chips out. The curry came up with underdone hard rice and reluctantly had to be sent back. Also it stated on the menu that it came with mango chutney but there wasn't any. Another thing I noticed there was a blackboard with prices for wine and the pinot gricio was 8e a glass yet I was charged 9e. It's a while since we'd been to the blackbull as our last time there wasn't great and we'd heard that things had improved but unfortunately they haven't. We were waiting a long time for our meal yet others who came in after us were served before us. Not a great experience unfortunately.

   Lovely meal and a nice feel about the place. The lighting was a little too dim for our liking as it was difficult to see our food, but overall, a really nice ambience. Waitress was polite and helpful, and the food was so tasty. Perfect for a few cocktails and a girly catch-up or a celebratory meal.

   Excellent choices for the Christmas menu... Turkey and Ham, Beef and Risotto all excellent as were the desserts. Service by our waitress was very good and prompt. Would not hesitate to recommend or to visit again.

   Lovely food and comfortable restaurant, had to wait 15 mins for starters and 25 mins for main course.

   Didn't like the ham croquet I think to ask bout it if they ask for Turkey and Ham. I'd rather a slice of ham. Apart from that the meal was delicious and different. Service and staff were out of this world

    We had a table for 4 people. 3 of us went for the carvery, beef was the dish of the day. I asked for roast potatoes instead of mash, the roast potatoes came out when my dinner was ate. The beef looked like it was sitting under heated lamps for ages. The portion size was small and when the roast potatoes did come out I could hardly cut them and was conscious of breaking a tooth!!! Taste of the roast potatoes was not good. The Yorkshire pudding was teeny. Would not recommend the carvery at all. The toilets were disappointing, smell coming from them was not good. No soap!!!!
