We’re more than oysters - we’re Colorado's best seafood restaurant! Opened 2017, this is Blue Island Oyster Bar & Seafood's flagship location. Our approach is to create honest food and drinks and serve them in a comfortable, casual environment. The restaurant’s culture is inspired by memories of growing up in coastal towns with families of oyster farmers and fishermen. Like them, we strive to bring you superb hospitality and delicious food with a commitment to the freshest seafood at reasonable prices. To ensure this commitment of quality, we’ve partnered with Chris Quartuccio of Blue Island Shellfish Farms in Long Island, NY to bring you nearly daily shipments of seasonal oysters and seafood, offering favorites such as Steamed Mussels, Lobster Rolls, Clam Chowder, Crab Cakes, and fish like halibut, Atlantic cod and salmon, to name a few. We invite you in for dock-to-dish dining at its best!

We moved from coastal Northern California to Colorado a couple of years ago, and really miss buying our own oysters at the docks, as well as the plethora of fantastic seafood restaurants. We were skeptical about any restaurant here claiming to serve fresh seafood, but finally decided to try Blue Island Oyster Bar - and, to our delight, it was amazing. The clam chowder was great, as was my prosciutto-wrapped scallop entree. We’ll definitely return, and soon!

Great service and delicious food. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and this place did not disappoint! Highly recommend Blue Island Oyster Bar if you’re looking for a nice assortment of surf and turf options. It’s a little pricey but worth it for quality seafood.

The potential here is really there, but a lot of dumb mistakes. Went there for lunch, they go by one menu now, so, lots of very expensive dinner items, and overburdened with too many items and they have raised their prices overall pretty dramatically. I understand the challenge of providing lunch value with seafood. Seafood is expensive, you have to be creative. This is really not a good lunch menu. (Mistake) waiter immediately asked if we would order upon sitting down and laying down the menu, she was also the bartender and wanted to “rush us along” the odd thing is they were overstaffed for waiters but still allowed the bartender to “pick up” tables. (mistake) heard a booth behind us ask for a coke, they informed them that they only had Pepsi, they declined and drank water, I had water as well, Coke drinkers, whether they say it or not, don’t like Pepsi. just a note Coke has a 70/30 market share to Pepsi, not serving something that 70% of your clients want is a mistake. ordered the fish and chips ($26.95) , about a 3-4 oz portion.probably 1.5-2 oz of breading, definitely overcooked (mistake) A little on the skimpy side. A lot of shoestring fries (cold) and a tiny 2 oz SS ramekin of cole slaw. Not sure why they ration the slaw, weird place to skimp as cabbage is cheap (mistake). Noticed no person on the front of the line watching food go out. (Mistake) however, there was a “manager” sitting at a booth looking at his laptop. (Mistake) he never looked at anything, absorbed with whatever he was watching and never worked the floor (mistake) bottom line, a very mediocre experience, not horrible, just some very inexperienced restaurant people making dumb mistakes. Wrote a lot here because I used to like this place. Could be so much better.

First visit. The hostess could be friendlier and more accommodating. Wobbly table. We asked for a different table and were told the empty tables were for bigger parties. There were two booths available and were not seated the whole time we were at the restaurant. Other than that the food was good and our server Noah was great. Nice ambiance and not too noisy. We’ll be back.

Omar, thank you for giving us a try and for sharing your feedback. We're glad to hear that despite the initial hiccups with seating, you enjoyed our good food and found Noah's service great. Your insights are valuable to us, and we'll work on improving in those areas so your next visit is even better. We look forward to having you back soon!
