Swordfish was very good. Seared Ahi was tough to cut through with my knife and was served cold. Great table and server.

It’s fine, I don’t mean that in a bad way…just fine. We come hear often when we’re in Coronado. Our daughter loves the poke appetizer. I’ve had several things (salads, chicken) and they’ve always been “ok”, “fine”. I really wanted to try the short rib pasta tonight, but was told it was “the only thing they were out of” - we had reservations @ 5pm. Truly, it’s fine, not amazing, but fine. There is a beautiful view if you can get a table along the windows/water.

I don’t often write reviews—when a place is exceptional, I do, but if it’s not worth revisiting, I just don´t return. They write their own future on survival. However, I’m compelled to share this feedback because kitchen was great, second server was great but initial impression was awful. We had an 8 PM reservation, noted in the booking that it was my wife’s birthday. Arrived at 7:58, promptky seated by 8. Initially assumed it might be something special for the occasion, unfortunately mistaken. We were seated at a six chair table, odd for just the two of us. Still, we made the best of it. For the next 15 minutes, multiple waitstaff passed by, no one even acknowledged us—not a glance, not a greeting. Unclear if those standing nearby were working or just observing. At 8:15, I approached the host at the entrance, politely asked about waiting time to get service. She moved us to a two-person table directly by the exit door, where the temperature was unpleasant. Decided to return to our original table, and on the way back, my wife noticed a four-person table in a more comfortable spot, they allowed us to take. We decided to give it another 5 minutes to leave. Finally, at 8:22, Jake arrived and completely turned the experience around. He was attentive, professional, and genuinely improved the evening. The only minor hiccup, forgot to bring the excellent bread the restaurant is also known for, and I had to stand and ask someone else for it. The food, was outstanding—kudos to the kitchen staff! Every dish lived up to the restaurant’s reputation, and the quality of the cuisine deserves praise. In summary, while the food is exceptional, customer service needs significant improvement. The lack of acknowledgment upon arrival and the overall coordination of the staff left a negative first impression. Additionally, if you’re celebrating a special occasion, don’t expect the restaurant to acknowledge it—even though I noted it in the reservation, no one recognized my wife´s birthday
