   We went for lunch for restaurant week and overall the experience was slightly disappointing. We found out they were busy filling a catering order and that slowed down service for us. Additionally the appetizer we were served was burnt on the bottom. Otherwise the food was good but not memorable. With many other good Vietnamese restaurants in San Francisco, I doubt we will return.

   My boyfriend & I had a great time at Bodega. The staff was on top of everything and even took a photo of us to commemorate our anniversary. The waiter checked up on us often, the food was served quickly & we were never without water. I loved my Saigon Smash cocktail & so did he but neither of us enjoyed his Gimlet. We ordered several dishes & loved 2 of them. 1 or 2 of them we could’ve done without. That’s my mistake though for ordering a pork dish when I don’t like pork 🙃 my boyfriend didn’t enjoy that dish either but the Bo Luc Lac was incredible. We are still thinking about how tender & juicy the meat was. Seasoned to perfection. I had some crab roll with vermicelli that was delicious too. I’d love to go back with a friend. My boyfriend wouldn’t but it really depends on the food you like. I love crab & was very happy with the tenderloin. He just loves steak & thinks crab is ok. 100% recommend and will come again

   Taking a self described Foodie explorer and friend to Bodega - really enjoyed it. The very tender and soft slide off the bone meat was delicious. The garlic noodles weren’t over powering. We ordered more than enough. The restaurant staff were attentive. Great information from our waitress about the dishes of the night - which we ordered. Definitely will be visiting again - hopefully a new years treat. Thank you

   My guest arrived before I did and they told him that we did not have a reservation. When I arrived and showed them the reservation, they frantically looked for it, but said they did not find it. We were waiting at the bar so as not to block the maitre D station. We never heard from them at all after that and eventually decided to eat at the bar. At best, it was inconsiderate, but it really was rude to not say anything to us. Not addressing the problem and just ignoring it does not make it go away. They could have apologized for not having our reservation, but they did not. They could have bought us a drink while we were waiting at the bar. They did not.

    I had my very first meal in San Francisco with Bodega. I made a reservation and felt great about it. Great food and plenty meat on the noodle. I loved the fried bread which came with the noodle. Oh and the spring rolls with special sauce were awesome!
