Boiler House at Pearl is a true Texas original. Situated in the historic Pearl Brewery complex on the San Antonio River Walk, this wine-centric restaurant occupies the former “boiler house” which powered the adjacent brewery. Lead by Executive Chef Alberto "Beto" Gutierrez, the menu focuses on grilled items from local farms and markets, with a focus on “Texas ranch-style” cuisine. These delicacies are paired with extraordinary wines from around the world (available by the glass, bottle and “to-go”), full bar, live music and a casual yet energetic atmosphere. The unique list of wines boasts some of the lowest prices in the area.

The restaurant incorporates various private dining areas suitable for private or corporate functions and an expansive outdoor patio area where guests can enjoy dining alfresco. We can host groups anywhere from 9 up to 290 guests in our unique, flexible private event spaces.

Our severs were real pros and only appeared when they were needed! The music was not my favorites and it was way too loud. The beet plate was the best thing we had and it might make a beet-hater into a beet-lover. The Pimento cheese was great, also. The boar lasagna and chicken fried antelope sliders were creative and very nice. Plating was pretty good. Overall very enjoyable evening.

Dillon our waiter was phenomenal from start to finish. From the appetizer sample to main course suggestions he was spot on throughout. My only issue with such a nice restaurant was the noise of some of the patrons. I don’t think loud and obnoxious have any place in a restaurant of this magnitude. IMO. We will be back but definitely could do without the noise.

My wife and I took a 2 day get away to San Antonio. We saw a show at the Stable Hall and then had dinner at the Boiler House. Cynthia our server was excellent. She explained the menu to us and even told us about the specials that weren't on the menu. She was very attentive throughout our dinner stay. We start our meal with the pimento cheese dip topped with a tomato jam and chicharrons. Its was very delicious. We also had an order cheddar Jalapeño biscuits that came out nice and warm and were very fluffy and moist. For our main course we shared a Ribeye that was cooked exactly how we requested it. To often our steaks are either over cooked or under cooked. The Boiler House got it just right. The steak was so soft and tender with great flavor. You could tell that the steak was Prime grade quality as advertised. In Vegas we had a steak that was supposedly "prime" grade but had the toughness of a "choice" grade steak. We appreciated that we were getting what we paid for. For the sides we chose the poblano mac and cheese, the loaded whipped potatoes, and the Brussel sprouts top with the same tomato jam as the pimento. Every one of the sides were excellent and the portions could have easily feed 3 people. A lot of high end steak houses that we have dinner at charge so much for sides and they are tiny portions. We finished our meal with a white chocolate bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream. It was the perfect way to top off our evening. Overall our experience at the Boiler House was great. We enjoyed every minute of it and would definitely recommend it to anyone. We spent $150 before tip, and felt that the quality of the food definitely matched the price tag. We can't wait to take another trip to San Antonio and vist the Boiler House again.

We really enjoyed our night out at Boiler house. The food was good and the ambiance was ah-mazing. Went with my girlfriend for a girls night and it wasn't loud even with a party in the party room. The service was good and the waiter was attentive to our needs. All in All a good evening.

Delicious dinner with friends before a concert. The filet mignons were done to perfection and the Brussels sprouts with whipped potatoes added to the entrees were yummy. We did have a wedge salad we shared just beforehand. Thank you for great service and a good meal. It was however very expensive.

As a 15 year plus downtown resident, this is our backyard. With 30 plus years in the hospitality field (now retired) I feel I can bring you real insight into our locations. The good, the bad and the ugly. If we run across a serious issue, I will always go directly to management and not post it. I truly believe you always must give management an opportunity to correct a serious issue. If not corrected and or just ignored, then I feel it is correct to inform the public - professionally. No establishment is perfect. I will bring to you smaller hiccups we may have come across. I will rarely comment on the taste of food - being bad, as that is a very personal thing. My wife and I disagree on taste of food and wine, no one is wrong or right. Now if the food is on fire, burned, under/overcooked to our requests, that would be mentioned. Had an event to see at the STABLE in the Pearl. We picked the Broiler House. It's been about 5 years since our last visit. Just like the last time mmm mmm mmmm. Service was great, happy faces welcomed you as you came in and a goodbye and thanks for dining when you departed. I'm a bit of a Sangria snob, having dual citizenship. Dang it was good, refreshing! We brought a couple with us, first time for them and they also gave it a thumbs up. No issues at all talking with all four of us. If you have never gone, peek upstairs at the private glass room you can reserve! Thank you, Broiler house, for consistently being good and great service. PS, Cindi is a 40 year plus vegetarian, no issues for her for options.
