   Nous avons prit le menu degustation St-Valentin. Trs bon et l'accord met /viin était parfait. Seul petit bémol, nous aurions aimé que se soit un sommelier qui vienne nous expliquer les vins. Le serveur a fait un bon travail, quoique un peu rapide. Nous y retourneront c'est certain.

   Considering that it was Valentine’s Day the busiest day of the year for restaurants it was good. Service was efficient. Food was good

   Our 2nd visit to restaurant Bonaparte!! We saw our server from 3 years ago, such a gracious man!! He recognized us immediately and reconnected at once. The food and cocktails were amazing as expected!! Highly recommend you will not be disappointed!!

   I had some special requests and the staff was very kind and very accommodating. It’s one of those special places which truly seems to care , making sure that you and your taste buds have a wonderful experience. It’s a rare gem in Montreal. If you’re looking for extraordinary cuisine, a warm quiet atmosphere in a beautifully decorated place, this is where you want to go.

   We had a lovely evening. The room is lit by chandeliers and the feeling of elegance is pleasant. We were underwhelmed by the food. We had the mushroom ravioli, good, salad, nothing special, short ribs special was tasty as was the savory duck. The cocktails and wine were wonderful as was dessert. Not sure we’ll go back but we were happy to have eaten there.

   This is OG French cuisine and a rarity in the contemporary restaurant scene. While we appreciate what is new and trending in the Montreal food scene, it is still a real treat to share a meal at a restaurant with a staff that know how to consistently produce a classic French meal at a reasonable price. First, the bar staff can make an excellent cocktail, and the wines are of great quality that won’t empty your wallet. Menu items are simple and classic (in a good way) and allow the superior quality ingredients to shine. We have dined here for almost 40 years ( went on one of our first dates here…and we have been married for 36 years!), and we appreciate the occasional menu tweaks and updates (the rabbit confit in filo dough is a recent winner!!!). We enjoyed the rabbit appetizer, as well as the smoked salmon (smoke in-house) app. We both thoroughly enjoyed the veal chop with a lovely sauce with mushrooms. It was PERFECTLY cooked ! In fact, the vegetables that accompanied the veal were so superior, they almost upstaged the veal (no joke!!). We tried the chocolate dessert which is fairly new to the menu, and it was a grand way to end a superior meal. Again, if you are looking for culinary foam and far-east fusion, you may want to look further; however, if you simply want an exceptionally delicious, superbly prepared meal with an elegant, yet unfussy atmosphere, and exceptional and friendly service…all for a reasonable price, I suggest you book a table at Bonaparte. It’s like going home every time we visit. Can’t wait for our next meal with them!!!

    Our dinner was outstanding! My husband had the lobster bisque, nicely flavored while I had the creme brulee foie gras, which was really outstanding. My husband had a generously sized steak tartar with a green salad for his main, while I had the cod, super fresh and perfectly cooked, served with an assortment of vegetables!. We shared a beautiful chocolate mousse for desert. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with their extensive French wine list.
