   First time there New Years Eve. It blew me away. The menu was creative, smart, well executed, with lots of technicalities. It was outstanding, definitely check this place out.

   Just got in from a ticketed three-course meal event. Though the pricing was fair, considering the other available events this evening around the city, the service was subpar. We were one of the earlier seatings this evening. Some of the food items that came out were tepid in temperature. And the donut that was part of dessert felt like it had been deep fried and left to sit in its own oil for far too long. Fairly disappointed considering my other visits to boxer in the past have been much more positive. I'm hoping that maybe they were short-staffed or just getting to the flow for the evening. And that later seedings will have a better experience.

   Not a huge menu but everything we tried was outstanding. The service was on point and the cocktail list is endless. Having lived in Vancouver for years we are always searching for a unique dining experience. This is the closest we’ve gotten from the YEG places in ambiance. Well done! And yes this is located in the alley in the old Lola’s martini bar. Right across from the old bus barns/Strathcona Farmers market. Add Boxer to your must try list!

   Overall very nice place Has great selection of wine and drinks. The appetizers we had were ok. Bree and sourdough bread both were lacking in flavour. Main was delicious braised beef rib. Very tender and delicious . Desert was unfortunately the worst part. They had pavlova on the menu which is so rare. But it was extreme hard and not edible what so ever. My friends had pudding which was better but also lacked in favour and texture was odd.

   We ordered Steak Frites med rare but steak was cooked well done and overly salty. Cornish hen was also overcooked, dry and tough. Salmon dish was very nice. We all enjoyed the cocktails. Our waiter was not engaged and just went through the motions but not rude. Would not recommend for dinner but only drinks and appetizers.

   This was a great spot to spend a longer dinner time, catching up with friends before Christmas. Our server, Daniel, was just the right level of attentive - present when we wanted/needed him but did not hover. Cocktails & wine were great. Dietary requirements were handled graciously & professionally, which 2 of us deeply appreciated. Short rib was not as moist inside as expected. Smoked Oliver’s were a highlight. Overall, a great experience & we’ll be back!

   Had a good meal and visit with a friend tonight. The young woman who served us was very friendly, informative and attentive without being overbearing. We tried the burger and the Atlantic cod, both of which were great.
