Restaurateurs Vittorio Assaf and Fabio Granato opened Brasserie Cognac de Monsieur Ballon in April 2008. Great experience had the calamari, escargot, halibut, mussels and miso cod. All cooked perfectly. Only complaints were that it was very loud, so dark I could barely read the menu and cod could have used more miso. Would definitely return !

Everything was phenomenal! Food is always great there, the service was excellent as well. Our waiter was extremely attentive. It is a bit loud in there though :-(

My mother and I come to NY twice a year an Cognac is always the first and final place we dine during our stay. The service is excellent and the food never disappoints. It is always delicious and the presentation is perfect. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough.

We sat at the bar and Dino provided us with exceptional service. The french onion soup and escargot were perfect! Only in town for marathon, but next time i am in NYC in manhattan will be coming back!

It was a quiet night in the restaurant but the food was very good and the wine list was excellent. There was some confusion regarding the wine we ordered but the restaurant addressed it. The service was attentive and prompt. We would go back.

We had a delicious brunch at Cognac Brasserie 48. I had a well executed Eggs Benedict while my husband had the Expresso French Toast which he devoured. Good service,
