Understated elegance and great food. The service was excellent and the prices reasonable. The poached pear dessert was fantastic as well.

Food over all was tasty but luke warm, fish dry and over cooked. Service was slow, not at all personable, had to ask for things twice, in all not friendly, even though it was not busy. We expected better give the reputation of the restaurant. Will try again, maybe it was an off night.

By far the best restaurant in Bar Harbor. Incredible food so perfectly prepared and presented. Best Oysters anywhere; Short Rib and Moules Frites best we’ve had in all our world travels. Butterscotch Creme Brûlée and Chocolate Desserts we will remember forever. Excellent wine list. Chef is a genius and his whole staff is a really special group. 5 stars aren’t enough… we will return again and again. So grateful to them for sharing their art, genius and passion. What a memorable experience. …and the bread…

We are locals and know and like the owner. Took a very good friend for her 80th birthday. SO disappointed in 3 of the 4 entrees—extremely dry and quite flavorless. It was a very expensive dinner and while the appetizers and desserts and drinks were quite good, the overall dinner was a real letdown.

Had our first meal here end of October and it didn’t disappoint. We ate early, 4pm, and as it was the end of the season so we had the restaurant to ourselves for about 30 minutes. Music was calming and created a nice ambience. After that there was a trickle of a crowd, some sat at tables and others at the bar area. Patrick was our server and handled everything perfectly. Food was very good. We had the mushroom tarte and French onion soup for appetizers then the stuffed lobster tail and spare ribs Bourbignon with a side of mashed potatoes. We don’t normally have desert but had to try the poached pear and a chocolate mousse and meringue dish (can’t remember its name) which were both yummy. Would recommend for a relaxing evening with a bottle of wine with someone special in your life. C’etait parfait!

Bar Harbor is gorgeous and to be able to eat delicious food is a bonus. They serve bone marrow which is seems a rarity. Drinks are strong, service was as good as the food. Will definitely return when we visit Bar Harbor again.
