   Food was fine but not as good as previous visits. The steak was a bit gristly but well cooked. Lobster was fine but not amazing. Waitress was not especially friendly. Overall it was nice but we've had better experiences at Brettingtons. Hopefully just a one off as this is one of our favourite places to eat in Rochester.

   The food is lovely, tasty and hot, which was nice. The service was good. I just feel a 12.5% service charge for a table of 6 was a bit much.

   Amazing steak, cooked to perfection. Our lovely waiter recommended the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake for pudding and it was the best cheesecake we've ever had.

   It all started so well. Fantastic food and cooked to perfection, the wine, we have the Rioja, was excellent value. But the service let us down, our waiter was drunk. In between service our waiter to a swinging pints of beer and eating crisps without washing his hands - he then went on to cut our bread by hand. When the meal was finished and he took away our steak board there was steak juice on the table. The juice was left for a few minutes without being cleaned up. The waiter then returned with the dessert menu and used my wife’s napkin to wipe the table without any disinfectant and didn’t replace it. We decided not to have dessert and asked for the bill. We had to ask for the bill a second time before it arrived. There was a 12.5% service charge included in the total and I didn’t feel it appropriate to tip given experience we had. The waiter was incredibly dismissive when we didn’t offer a tip and promptly said goodbye and threw the receipt tray onto the bar top in anger. Overall, would we go again - yes but only for the food not for the service.

   Food was absolutely delicious and would definitely eat there again. The bill was reasonable for a family of four and the waiting staff were pleasant and helpful

   Excellent, we were made to feel.welcome, and we felt like we were the only ones there. Very attentive, polite and definitely both excellent at their jobs

   First time of eating here and I have to say was very impressed. Was a week day so not to busy which suited me fine. Ambience was great not to loud so could have a good conversation without struggling to hear. The service was very good waiters were very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing across all courses, the fillet steak I had was to die for. Probably the best food I’ve ever had when eating out. It was my birthday and the staff made it that bit more special with my dessert. Thank you for a great experience.

   I went on a quiet day when it’s not busy at all, during a weekday. Overall I would definitely come back here again in the future, great experience, and enjoyed the food.. thanks!

    I have visited here many times before and food and service etc has always been good. This was a birthday meal which was spoilt. On arrival my pre booking request hadn’t been accommodated (I asked for a booth or a table that want frequently walked past). I was seated in the main space between 2 large groups with barely any space between tables (much less than the guidance of 1m). The noise levels were in excess of guidance (due to too many tables being squeezed in) requiring you to shout across the table and as such we did not stay. Disappointing as I have previously always had a good meal here and especially enjoyed the lobster. I’m not sure what market the owners are now trying to attract. The menu seems to offer lower priced options which probably contributes to it being busier. Particularly disappointing as it was my bday meal. If you want a romantic meal this is not the place and I will not be returning or recommending unless something changes to improve the environment.
