Old Country Road meets Bay Area Farmer's Market. Enjoy unforgettable dinner and drinks at the renowned Bull Valley Roadhouse, featuring elegantly hearty American dishes and expertly prepared cocktails in an old world atmosphere. Located in the picturesque town of Port Costa, BVR is a magical and convenient getaway, discovered and influenced by its community. The establishment has operated as a restaurant and bar since 1964, opening in October of 2012 under new leadership.

We accept online reservations for parties of 8 or fewer guests on Weds-Fri 5-9pm, Sat 12-9pm, and Sunday 11am-8pm. For parties of 9 - 14, please call 510-787-1135 and parties of 15+ email events@bullvalleyroadhouse.com

    Prompt and friendly service, quiet and enjoyable atmosphere, but my $60 dinner that should have been hot came out cold. I ordered a seasonal cocktail that was creative but simply didn’t taste good.

    Our fist visit, food was very hit or miss~ Loved: Deviled Eggs (that XO sauce is FIRE), Eggnog Menu, our attentive busser Liked: Steak Tartare (missing acid, skimpy crostini portion and when we asked for more we got an untoasted hunk of bread), Mussels (wasn’t expecting the fries or aioli dumped in the sauce, not a fan) Missed the Mark: Fried Chicken was burnt and WAY salty/over-brined, inedible :( Great ambiance, great cozy table in a window corner, worth the drive from Napa for the delicious eggnog options. Definitely left hungry on this visit but would love to try again.

    The holiday cocktails were delicious. Smoked pork chop and miso glazed carrots were my favorites of the evening….but everything was really wonderful. I have been to bull Valley many times over the years, and always have had great experiences. Last night’s dinner was very special and has landed right up there at the top.

    Wildly overpriced for the portions and very uneven cookery ( won’t even get into the dessert menu—geez). Excellent staff, will always love the space, but (sadly) new-ish ownership changed the quality, the uniqueness, and vibe. $175 tomahawk is utter bro culture. Was a guaranteed family celebration spot, won’t be anymore. Kinda breaks my heart.

    The food was the most delicious, enticing and well prepared food that I have had in a long time. My seared ahi was scrumptious! Word the ride, a mouthwatering treat in the most charming vintage building! Fabulous brunch!!!
