   Honestly, very underwhelming for the money. Everything feels old, even the service, I wouldn’t have fun in this environment normally. Nothing pulling me to go back.

   We asked for a table inside the vault and they were happy to accommodate us. Food and drink were very good. I had the scallops, daughter had the steak (which was amazing), friend had the burger. All very tasty! Would go back. Wait staff was friendly.

   Went for an early dinner before a Bocelli concert at Madison Square Garden. Food was solid. Both of us had filet mignon’s cooked to order. We shared the maple bacon roasted brussel sprouts. Delicious. Cocktails were very well made. Only drawback was lighting (too dark!). Service was very good. Would definitely go again.

   A Timeless Vaulted Escape in NYC For our 12th anniversary, my wife and I wanted a memorable dining experience, and we found it in this hidden gem tucked away in the historic New Yorker Hotel. Housed in what was once an old bank vault, this steakhouse offered more than just a meal; it was an enchanting journey into the past. From the moment we stepped through the doors, the ambiance transported us. My wife, who’s lived her whole life in New York, remarked that the setting made her feel like she wasn’t in the city at all. The design—ornate, elegant, and brimming with old-world charm—evoked a sense of grandeur. It felt like stepping into a 1920s time capsule where every guest seemed important, fancy, and yes, a little bougie. The food was exceptional. I started with the crab cake, which came paired with a vibrant wasacaca sauce—a unique Venezuelan-inspired touch that added a fresh, tangy kick. For my main course, I chose the buttery salmon, which quite literally melted in my mouth. It was perfectly cooked, rich, and flavorful, leaving me savoring every bite. My wife opted for one of their signature steaks, and it was cooked to perfection with just the right balance of char and tenderness. The service was attentive and thoughtful, matching the opulence of the venue. If I had one critique, it would be the lack of non-alcoholic beverage options on the menu. While it wasn’t a dealbreaker, a few curated mocktails or even house-made sodas could have rounded out the experience. Overall, this restaurant made our anniversary truly special. Between the historic setting, the exquisite food, and the impeccable attention to detail, it’s a place we’ll cherish as part of our memories.    It was a disappointing experience. We sat in the vault, which could have been very cool…but then there was a shelf of random antiques. Maybe they were somehow tied into the history but it just looked like your grandma decorated it. We ordered 3 New York strips, which were $58 each. They were all tough, lacked flavor abs were overall not good. The sides we ordered were the fries, mashed potatoes and maple bacon brussel sprouts. The fries and brussel sprouts were the best thing we ordered. The mashed potatoes were nothing special. For $350, we should not have left hungry.

    We travel to NYC several times a year and the Butcher and Banker is at the top of our list of where to have a great meal. This restaurant has some the best steaks we have had and the selection of beverages is great. And don't forget the dessert !!! To die for. If you visit NYC this is a great place to eat.
