Didn’t respect our reservation time as well as the servers were extremely rude. Nothing more to say.

When we arrived there was no hostess to check us in. The place was packed. The people who were already waiting for their reservation didn’t want us to check in. I’m guessing they were tourists and afraid we would be seated before them. Regardless, after we finally spoke to someone about our 6pm reservation they told us it would be about 20 mins and to wait outside in the 25 degree weather since the restaurant was running behind. Me having a small child with me was already annoyed and said forget it, I’m not waiting. I asked the host to pls cancel my reservation on open table so I could book somewhere else. He rudely said he did, but of course he didn’t and I could not book another reservation somewhere else because the app thought I was dinning already at Café Amaro. Needless to say we had to go home with out having dinner out. As someone who lives in Boston and goes to the north end frequently, I was beyond disappointed and letdown by the professionalism of this restaurant. There are plenty of other restaurants in the north end that value the locals and don’t treat them like this. I won’t be returning. Even to try the food at this point.

Meal was delicious! We started with the burrata. It was so fresh! Then shared a marinara pizza and vodka fussili. So fresh and incredible. Wine was amazing and espresso martini was one of the best.

Amazing experience. One of the most intimate Italian restaurants I have been to. The place is a bit small but in a very personal way. The food was divine and to die for. The best chicken Marsala I’ve ever had and my girlfriend’s vodka pasta was delicious. I highly recommend this to anyone in the Boston area. We were the only people in the restaurant which I enjoyed but let’s get this place some business!

We recently visited the restaurant and, unfortunately, the impressions were extremely negative. It all started when I noticed that when the bill arrived, it listed several additional drinks that we had not ordered. Several items were included that were not on the table at all(he thought we ordered more expensive dish, so he put it on the check😂, but it’s okay). When I asked the guy, he still put the bigger amount in the new bill. Please be careful and double check your bills!)

Great meal! The restaurant is tiny (probably seats 20 to 24 max). So make a reservation. We started with the Caesar salad—which was great. Our original plan was to get a pizza and split a pasta but changed to two pastas when we saw some coming out of kitchen. Husband had chicken parm (excellent) and I had the lobster fra diavalo—also excellent. They have lots of decent wines by the glass. Overall, excellent food and the prices are cheaper than many/most in area. Having said that, this places is primarily apps, pizzas and pastas. You aren’t going to get traditional secondi entrees here. But I’ve visited Boston a few times and always grab an Italian meal in the north end—this was my favorite place I’ve tried.
