   We love Cafe Brio! We eat there whenever we are in Victoria from our home on Pender Island. The food and service are always delightful!

   I love Cafe Brio but this was disappointing. My partner ordered the Bolognese which was delicious and there was lots of it. I ordered the gnocchi and the gnocchi was delicious, clearly house made. However the sauce was bland and detracted from the dish rather than complimenting it. That became much clearer when I found it dry and asked for more sauce. What they brought was basically a plain white sauce tasteless. When I told the server she explained the chef was ill and off work and the kitchen was troubled. But she offered nothing- no discount, not even a truffle to compensate. Disappointing. Might be awhile before I try it again.

   Christmas get together with friends. Lovely ambiance and service. Food was delicious but very small portions.

   We love Cafe Brio, the food is always inventive and beautifully prepared. The service is outstanding. We took advantage of the early pre fixe dinner and had an amazing meal for a surprisingly inexpensive price.

   We sat at the bar, the food and service were quite good. My duck was done to perfection and the salads were fresh and very tasty. My husband had the tagliatelle and wasn’t as happy with it, I tasted it and it was great. The miniature crème brule was just the right size! Would have been a higher score if we were at a table and my husband would have been happy with his dinner.

   This was our first visit back since Greg Hays retired from this wonderful restaurant. It is still the gem it always was. Our waitress (I believe Carissa) was excellent and didn't miss a thing in making sure our dining experience was great, even though it was a full house that evening. We dined early as we were off to the Victoria Symphony, so we actually got to order their early bird special dinner which had several options and was a 3 course meal. It was excellent. We have been here many times over the years and will continue as it is really a Victoria gem in so many respects -- ambience, location, food, wine and service, and prices that are very fair for what you get. A strong recommendation from me for sure.

    One of the best restaurants I have been to in Victoria! The food was beautifully plated and perfectly cooked as well as very flavorful. The value for this three course meal as part of their early bird special was incredible. Service was also amazing and very attentive. Strongly recommend this wonderful restaurant!
