The historic Café Hauptwache ist situated in the city center of Frankfurt and is one of Frankfurt‘s wellknown and regularly visited Restaurants. As a central meeting point with a very nice outdoor area, it serves both as a perfect venue to relax and to meet for drinks or dining. At dusk, Café Hauptwache changes into a unique bar with international flair. Our gastronomic specialities include traditional Frankfurt cuisine and international delicacies.

This was our third annual visit to Café Hauptwache with our travel group. The food is reliably very good as is the value. For the first time, we were seated upstairs in a quiet area, and I will say I missed at least a little the ambience of the more lively main floor. Service upstairs was slow even by European standards but we didn't mind. I do recommend highly this restaurant and the area around it is great walking and viewing!

Das Service Personal sollte mal eine Schulung erhalten wie man sich richtig verhält. Am Rande zustehen und mit dem Handy zu spielen während Gäste darauf warten zu bestellen finde ich persönlich ein Unding. Die Portion sind ein Witz!!! Für sage und schreiben 5.80€ EINE Scheibe Handkäs mit ein paar Zwiebel und drei Scheiben Brot ist eine bodenlose Frechheit. Das sind Preise die nicht mal für die Frankfurter Innenstadt gerechtfertigt sind. Die Schlachtplatte für zwei Personen - Naja darüber kann man Streiten, ob die Portionsgröße ausreichend ist oder nicht - ein Paar Frankfurter- ein Schnitzel und eine Haxe (bei der im übrigen nicht einmal die Schwarte knusprig war). Der Geschmack des Essens war so lala teilweise hat das Essen wirklich nach überhaupt nichts Geschmeckt. Meiner Meinung nach ist dieses Restaurant die reinste Touri abzocken - alleine der kleine aber feine Hinweis auf der Rechnung „Tip is not included - Thank you :)“ das war definitiv mein letzter Besuch im Café Hauptwache.

This is a great place to people watch as you eat decent food in central Frankfurt. The service was great, it was not too busy even at 20:00 on a Saturday evening. Some of the portions are large so you may be able to share. Be advised that beer sales closed at 22:00, not an issue for us but make sure to hit last call if you wish to have another.

Der Problempunkt beim Café Hauptwache war der im Innenraum vorhandene hohe Geräuschpegel (viele Gäste, aber auch viel Klappern/Klirren von Geschirr durch das Personal!). Das Essen war dagegen sehr gut und der Service des Personals auch.

Etwas zu laut im raum für anregende Gespräche, aber gute Küche, interessantes Ambiente. Zentrale Lage nur wenige Meter neben Parkhaus. War zur Mittagzeit da. Teste es nochmal an späterer Uhrzeit

Das Essen ist wirklich gut, allerdings auch ziemlich hochpreisig. Während wir dort waren (ca. 3h) wurde die Spüle (im Gastraum) für Geschirr und Besteck sehr intensiv benutzt, was zu einer sehr starken und störenden Geräuschkulisse führte. Aufgrund des vollen Restaurants und der Spüle war es zeitweise fast nicht möglich sich zu unterhalten.

Plan war, wieder ein Restaurant mit Frühstück zu testen was wir sehr gerne machen. Es gibt leider keine große Auswahl, aber dafür war es sehr lecker. Wir waren für unseren Shoppingtag gut gerüstet. Zusätzliche Wünschen wurden prompt erfüllt. Das Rührei ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen!!!
