   I recently made dinner reservations for myself and a friend, and we were both excited to try this restaurant based on the photos and positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. Despite requesting a booth in my reservation, we were not accommodated. My friend, who arrived earlier while I parked, waited 30 minutes without receiving any service. When I inquired about our booth request, the hostesses were dismissive and unprofessional, responding with, “If you want me to kick people out of their tables, I can’t get you a booth or an indoor table.” We were ultimately seated outside in an undesirable corner facing the sidewalk, with loud music making conversation difficult. Even then, we waited an additional 15 minutes, totaling 45 minutes without service, before deciding to leave. The environment was more of a club scene, crowded and noisy, with limited space and a party-oriented atmosphere. The aesthetics also did not match the photos, which may reflect a better ambiance earlier in the day. Thankfully, we found another restaurant where we enjoyed excellent service and dining.    Very good food and service. Brunch on Saturday was a scene for young people drinking and having a great time. Music was so loud it was hard to hear regular conversation, but that seems to fit the vibe of the place.

   The food was fantastic. Creative, beautifully presented, and delicious. The service was excellent our waiter was very attentive and delightful. HOWEVER, the music was far, far too loud. Even the 20 somethings in our group agreed that it was distracting and annoying during brunch. The mix was actually great, and I told the DJ so. However the decibel meter on my phone pegged out at 94 pretty consistently. 70 and below is considered safe, and levels above 85 can actually cause hearing damage. So, take that information and use it as you will. Unfortunately, despite the fabulous food, I will probably not go back.

   Great atmosphere and ambiance. We went on a Monday night and it wasn’t busy at all. The food was excellent. All four dishes that everyone had were fantastic. The humus and pita bread appetizer is a must to start off your meal. Would highly recommend Cala!

   Food and service were good. We and our table as well got hit and bumped multiple times by multiple intoxicated individuals. Security or bouncer looking staff did not care when brought to their attention. Very loud and packed hallways. Good luck getting to the restrooms. You have to come face to face and bump people like inside a College town club to find your way.

   Came here for dinner with friends Saturday night. Our waitress didn’t know the differences between vegan and vegetarian and didn’t know anything about the pasta dish on the menu, saying it was recently added and fairly new. We ordered a bottle of wine for the table, didn’t let us try before pouring and even the pour was unskilled at best. The food was fairly good but the noise level horrible! There was a large birthday dinner party next to us that got so out of control that they took over half the restaurant with their loud cheers and constant shouts (clearly intoxicated), not only interrupting our own conversation but there were times we gave up on it altogether. Complained to the manager but not much could be done. The place is more of a trend spot - not worth the value for the money if you’re looking to enjoy a great meal, good service and partake in a conversation with your friends. It seems more of a club vibe and younger clientele.

    Restaurant is beautiful. Hostess was very friendly. Server greeted us right away but after she took our drink order she was MIA. Appetizers came out before we got our drinks. I noticed that the bottle of wine that we had ordered was sitting at the bar waiting to be delivered to our table for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, the manager was standing right next to said bottle of wine and chatting away with some ladies at the bar but never thought to deliver it to us, and the bartender never asked him to run the bottle over to us, because he was too busy visiting with the ladies also. Seemed like they could’ve been off the clock employees? One of the girls was vaping inside the restaurant. For the price point, I was disappointed with the service given that the restaurant was pretty dead on a Sunday night. Food was excellent! Definitely more of a club pre funk vibe.
