Fabulous food, lovely staff and a nice bar lounge. Shame the Cambium restaurant was missing a number of tables. It looked and felt like we were dining in an empty house. Not at all the atmosphere you expect for such a highly priced dining experience.

Menu was rather strange. 2 vegetarian, 2 fish and 2 game (of which one was a sharing option). Need to offer a meat alternative that isn’t game. Having said that both fish courses were superb. Room lacks ambience although wall hangings are lovely.

There were 2 wedding parties we had to awkardly excuse ourselves through to get to the restaurant which was very strange for both of us. We went expecting lunch guests in bath robes from the spa either it wasn’t an issue but very odd, The service was slow between courses but very friendly. The food itself was strange, enough vegetables for a group of 5 (there was 2 of us) and 2 slices of very rare beef for the main (we were not asked how we would like our cooked and almost raw seemed like an or thing to do for Sunday lunch) The dessert was excellent! And cream tea that people had looked lovely

The menu lacked variety e.g. breast of quail and confit of leg starter. menu course option pretty much the same only partridge and another of duck. The quail starter was good. The partridge breast was difficult to cut though tasted fine and the portion of bread sauce was quite small. The starter of mackerel was fine but the accompanying salad leaves were rendered limp with the dishes sauce. Everything else was fine. The desserts were good. The wine waiter was helpful in selecting a red wine when the we picked was unavailable.

Friendly knowledgeable and attentive (without being over the top) staff. Food very tasty and good portion sizes. If in area or state at hotel again would definitely eat there without hesitation.

We really enjoyed our meal. And the service/waiter was very good especially with our intolerances and preferences. The food is SO GOOD!, which you would hope it would be for the price.
