Campisi's Downtown is owned and operated by David Campisi and his family. The restaurant has a long and storied history, beginning in 1946 when David's great-grandfather bought a bar with a small kitchen and began making pizzas - the first ever in Dallas. Today, Campisi's Downtown still makes its famous pizza (you can even build your own if you like), and also serves up a huge array of pasta dishes, salads, appetizers and entrées. For dessert, try the tiramisu or Italian cream cake. There's something for every taste at Campisi's downtown, so bring the family and enjoy delicious beef, veal, chicken and seafood dishes (and pizza!) all made in the traditional Italian style.

We visited Campisi's downtown for my daughters graduation dinner. We had a large party and had a reservation got 7:45pm. We arrived early and were seated promptly. We did have a large party. Our server Corey introduced himself fairly quickly. We sat down at 745, by 830 We STILL had not ordered our food. The service was so slow and disorganized. Not sure if he was new or what but instead of taking all of the drink orders he went and got each fountain drink one by one. The drink and appetizer ordering process took nearly 45 min. Once we ordered finally, the food came out quickly, which tells me the kitchen was in order. Once we were done it took him nearly another 45 min to get our checks. He needed help and I feel like the manager should have assigned another server to assist him. Some people decided not to order an entree because it took so long to put the order in. By the end of the night, what should have been a celebration, turned into a night where our entire party was completely frustrated and ready to leave. We were exhausted. This was easily the worst service I have received in a very long time. And dont even get me started on the parking situation!

We ordered the crab claws, but they delivered calamari instead. They did recognize their mistake and made it right. However, the service was not very good. Took forever to get our food and we were trying to get to a show at the Majestic theater by eight. our reservation was for six and we were still there at 20 to 8 waiting for the check The pasta was not good. The gluten-free pizza was very good. They need to do some work in my opinion

The food, as our last visit two years ago, was exceptional! Service was fast, very fast for a top of the line Italian restaurant, and our server attentive. Campisi's is a must visit whenever we are in Dallas!

Our server took very good care of us. We had 16 at our table & they kept a nice tempo of bringing our food out. We’ll be back!
