   I had mentioned via OpenTable that it would be my wife's birthday lunch, therefore, was hoping for a pleasant experience. It was a fiasco. After a long wait for our main dishes, both my wife and I were served cold and overcooked pasta. While the waitress offered to reheat our dishes, I chose not to since the pasta was already overcooked. The Caesar salad that we had as an appetizer was delicious, however, to be served cold pasta dishes in a restaurant specialized in Italian food ruined the birthday lunch. The maitre d let the waitress apologize to us but deleted the cost of my wife's pasta dish from the bill. It was frankly the minimum he could do. We left dispirited.

   Gia offers delicious food, beautiful ambience, and great service. Highly recommend going with friends and sharing so you can try more dishes!

   Yesterday we made our annual pilgrimage to Cantina Gia to celebrate my partner's birthday. We have long considered the cacio e pepe there to be about the best we can outside of Italy. So we had that, the delicious arancini to start, the rapini for a bit of vegetable matter (delicious!), and we shared a tiramisu for dessert. I don't know why, but I had never notice the flight option for amaro liqueurs on the dessert menu. We decided to do that and got to taste three very different amaros. It was such a fun way to end the evening. Overall, splendid! And we will do it again.

   Had noted it was a birthday occasion but there was no effort from the restaurant. Perhaps they don’t do that? If the restaurant doesn’t offer a speciality service for birthdays the app shouldn’t ask if it’s the occasion.

   8:45 Reservation for 2 at the Bar TL;DR Food is really good, our service experience was rushed and impersonal, wine is over priced. I will order food from here but take it home to wine and dine myself. most likely wont go back to dine in. Pros: Ambiance is nice with a chatty crowd. Spaghetti and meatballs, brown butter butternut squash pasta, warm olives and focaccia were very good. Bartender gave us good conversation and was able to answer any question we had. Cons: We arrived to the reservation at 8:50, waited 5-10 minutes for our seat (No problem with that), once we were seated, we were handed and menu. By 9:15 a woman came up to us in a hurry and said "Before you look too close at the menu we are out of the Ragu and Tiramisu and the kitchen closes in 15 minutes.", It is what it is, i understand, It just put a bad taste in my mouth right as dinner started. The wine is incredibly over priced, $20 bottle from the LCBO being sold for $70. The plates of each dish were cold, food was hot but didn't last long, they could heat up the plates

    My go-to place when I catch up with a friend. I love sitting at the bar and sharing the pasta carbonera, the salad, and the chicken or the fish. Also lots of gluten-free options if needed.
