Cantoro Trattoria is a family owned upscale yet casual Italian restaurant featuring house made pastas and traditional Italian cuisine including a variety of pizzas cooked in our wood burning pizza oven. Our in house sommelier and general manager Ian McClain maintains a complete wine list from around the world with emphasis on selections from Italy. Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020,2021, and 2022. Mlive "Top 10 List" for best Italian restaurant's in Michigan 2017 and 2022.

    This restaurant is remarkable in that it is located at a grocery store, albeit a legitimate Italian market. The restaurant operates as if it were independent as the level of quality of food and service are comparable or better than many standalone restaurants. Great well chosen wine list that also showcases the incredible selection in the grocery store wine department. Menu & wine list prices are very reasonable and offer great value. The food and service are very consistent which is refreshing given today’s challenges much of the restaurant industry faces. Seemingly little turnover of staff is a credit to ownership and management.

    Contoros never disappoints—it’s our go-to restaurant! The food is always amazing, the service is excellent, and the ambiance is fantastic. However, during our visit last night, we felt a bit rushed, likely due to the holiday season. Overall, it’s always a great experience!

    The food and the ambience was of course very good. However, the waiter seemed like he may have had too many tables and was distracted and didn’t give us full attention and we had to ask for the dessert menu. He didn’t offer it. Also, when I went to pay. I had a gift card that they would not accept. It was a Visa gift card that should work anywhere however they don’t accept them so just be careful. Luckily I had a back up credit card or I’d been washing dishes lol . I highly recommend this restaurant and best food you’ll find anywhere in southeast Michigan by far!

    Dined at Cantoro’s to celebrate a wedding anniversary and a birthday. We were 8 adults and 2 in high chairs. The staff was very accommodating despite it being a busy holiday dinner time. Everyone loved the food and cocktails.

    Everything is always so good! Tuna crudo, arrincini, burrata apps all tasty. Pastas all wonderful, they kindly offered a vegetarian friendly sauce with our preferred pasta, plus the saltimbocca was delicious. Didn’t get the rucola e parmigiano salad, but it’s my favorite one, simple and very well done. Cantoro’s is always a favorite!

    As usual, the food and service were great. One of our favorite destinations!! Highly recommend because food and service are so consistently good. Can’t say that about many places.
