Love the ploughmans served here. Shame waitress couldn't understand everything we asked for. This is our 4th visit for different menus and all have been great

Sunday roast was excellent...succulent meat and plenty of veg and gravy - However, the attitude of the manager left us aghast. In our party was a disabled person, relying on sticks for balance. We arrived a bit early and we were told that we would have to wait for our seat in the restaurant, which was fair enough. But, there was no adequate seating (all high stools) and we had to stand. Opposite us, there were a group of people, with their dog sitting on a chair, paws on table, eating from a plate. This chair could have been given to our disabled person, but it wasnt offered. When we were shown to our table, we mentioned the scenario to the manager, who was unsympathetic, and said it was 'your own fault for arriving early' and that 'some dog owners regard their pets as their own children'! For a start, it is unhygienic for a dog to eat off the table...but who would have been in greater need of a chair - a dog, or an elderly person that finds standing up for extended periods of time difficult!? In our opinion, this man should never, ever be a nanager, given his attitude! Another member of staff, however, (Greg) was very attentive and different in attitude when he came along during our meal and asked if all was ok. Luckily, we are not from the area, so highly unlikely to frequent this place again. Please be aware, the bar area is not disabled friendly - neither is the manager!

Had a 2 course Sunday lunch with family . Starters were nice served quite quickly . It was quiet when we arrived but became very busy although this should be accounted for as we then had to wait an hour for the roast to arrive . When it arrived the beef was Luke warm . Potatoes not great and not sure what was going on with the cabbage it was literally half a cabbage stuck on top of peas and green beans 🤦‍♀️ . Unfortunately we all won’t be returning such a shame as lovely views and the staff were very attentive , friendly and apologetic.

Yet another fab meal at the Captains Cabin. They were very accommodating and made a main meal from the starter menu for one of us. Service was great. A lovely Sunday lunch.

We had Sunday lunch. Very generous and it all tasted very fresh and homemade. Very good value. The only downside would be the time we spent between courses. It felt a little bit too long but the staff we great and very friendly.

The meal at the Captains Cabin was lovely. Plenty of it and well cooked and appealing. The staff were very attentive and the view from the window was fabulous. It was great value for money and comparable with other eateries.
