   Cassava is truly a gem in San Francisco, and my recent visit only reinforced why it’s such a beloved spot. The food was simply outstanding—every dish was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. From the first bite to the last, it was a culinary experience that delighted all my senses. What made the evening even more special was the presence of the owner, who was not only visibly helping her staff but also warmly engaging with every table. She attended to our needs with such genuine care, answering questions about the menu and making us feel like treasured guests. It’s rare to see such dedication and passion, and it elevated the experience to something truly unforgettable. While it’s bittersweet to know Cassava is closing temporarily, I’m counting the days until it reopens. This restaurant is a treasure, and I can’t wait to return for more exceptional meals and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Cassava, we’ll miss you and eagerly await your comeback! M & W

   Cassava is one of the best restaurants in San Francisco. Their North Beach location is so warm and welcoming. The service team at Cassava is always so gracious and accommodating. The food is so inventive and just plain delicious. Their standards (Duck Confit, Octopus, Fried Chicken, Cresta di Gallo Pasta, and Heirloom Tomato Salad) over more than a decade just seem to improve with each visit. The curated wine list has always been remarkable. From unique Sake's to Orange Wines, Small French Producer Pinot Noir. Yuka's pairings are always exciting and memorable. Nothing beats Kris' Panna Cotta for dessert. The consistency of his panna cotta is substantial while at the same time silky and always paired with some fresh fruit and a compote plus a little crumble to offset the creaminess of the panna cotta. Thank you Cassava for yet another memorable dinner!

   We chodr ptrfix dinner to cereblate her birthday. Fried Chiken was so juicy. The Grilled Bass was best match with the recommended sparkling wine. Lastly, desserts were so creative and tasty. We were so sutisfied with everything including meal contents and the service. Thank you.

   I want to thank everyone at Cassava for a lovely evening. The food was excellent: creative and simple at the same time. The wine selections worked perfectly with the food. And, of course, the service was spot-on and incredibly welcoming.

   Had the prix fixe meal and enjoyed the heirloom tomato salad. Celebrated my mom’s birthday and it was great. We enjoyed the courses and it was a good price.

   everything was good but service could be improved. the flow of service was intermittent- we had to look for our server a couple of times.

   Our dining experience at Cassava was good. Our server Tony was very friendly, courteous and provided great service. We ordered the Spot Prawns as an appetizer and Octopus and Sausage and Rigatoni Provencal as entrees. The food was good but we felt it could have been better as far as taste.

    very surprised on how this crowded but balmy night to be trying cassava for first time..limited but very varied menu..mussels in wine excellent..grilled octopus very tasty..fish was ok but husband liked its preparation style and the duck was very ordinary..great cocktails and excellent wines..very crowded corner at 601 columbus but was perfect on this balmy blue angels night..dessert menu very limited..bread pudding and peach melba but based on experience food was better than menu description..waitstaff very attentive..honored my requests..

    We are so glad you came to try us out on the evening before the Italian Heritage Festival in North Beach. The atmosphere this weekend is always bustling and celebratory. We sous vide the duck leg for 36 hours with herbs to enhance its natural flavors before finishing for you in our capacious oven. Our address is 401 Columbus (not 601), but I'm sure our great cocktails and excellent wines were very much enjoyed.
