   The meat in my pepper steak was full of gristle..I was there a mnth ago and had the same meal and it was fantastic. Did they change beef suppliers or were they just to busy (Xmas season)?

   Very good service on a busy night at the Cattle Baron. Noise level is a little loud with tables fairly close together but manageable.

   We've been coming here for years and have always had a great experience with the staff. We did notice that the desert portions have gotten a lot smaller the last time we were there so we just didn't both this time . We will be keeping an eye on them to see if they will get bigger again.Overall we still enjoy coming for our early dinner sbefore the crowds come to have a quiet meal. As always we recommend this restaurant to all of our friends. Thank you again for the lovely dinner last night.

   The wait staff were very personable and efficient. They allowed us to just enjoy and chat over our first glass of wine. I did not feel rushed. The food was very very good! I would recommend it to others.

   Five Stars all around. They made it easy. We arrived just before our designated time and were escorted to our table for two. Turned out to be next to the fireplace which added welcome ambiance as well as comforting warmth (mid December). My wife had no difficulty in arranging a modification to her menu selection and when our food arrived it was hot, prepared perfectly for us and very delicious. A nice American Merlot was the perfect complement. Great atmosphere, wonderful food, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive wait staff. The restaurant was not full which meant quieter for us, icing on the cake.

   The poor rating is because two people in our party ordered the Prime Rib which both had to return as the meat was tough and flavourless. Prime Rib is supposed to be a signature dish at this establishment, and the quality of the meat that my wife and son got was horrible. I tried a piece and it was honestly one of the worse Prime Ribs I had tasted. Prime Rib should be tender and juicy, and my wife’s piece has hard and dry. My sons piece was just as bad if not worse. My wife and son ordered replacement meals which were very good, but by the time the replacement meals arrived, two of us were finished and my wife and son had to eat separately while me and my son’s friend were finished. When we were finished, I would have expected some kind of offer for a desert being we were inconvenienced and we did not all get to eat together. The server brought me the bill, noted that I was not charged for the two returned Prime Ribs and at the bottom of the bill it indicated a $98.00 discount. However I was charged for the two replacement meals so the bill was deceiving to show a discount as I did not get any discount. I paid for everything we ate, which I expect to do. However it was disappointing that nothing was offered after my wife and son had to eat their meals separately and because of this, we were there for 3 hours. My son’s friend who eats there often called over the manager to make a comment about the inconvenience and nothing being offered. The manager apologized and gave us a $40.00 gift card which was appreciated, but the fact we had to bring it up was not good customer service. Also, where we were sitting a I was uncomfortable all night as there was cold air blowing on me the entire night. I made the reservation a month in advance and I feel we had the worse seat in the restaurant. It has been a long time since I ate at Cattle Baron and I’ll be hard pressed to go there again after this experience.
