Finally a restaurant that’s not a tourist trap. Food was amazing! We started with the Tostones y Carne Mechada; a must try. The octopus was also good. For the main course I had the parilla caya with steak. Which was cooked and seasoned well. My wife had the Chicken Fricasse which was delicious, we weren’t crazy about the gnocchi though. It had a bland beef stew taste. Now please save room for dessert…The Tres Leches and Enyucado was incredible! Would definitely go again. Only thing I didn’t like is they automatically add a 15% gratuity and then the server had the audacity to ask if you would like to leave another tip. He even stared at me and the credit card machine as I closed out the bill. You should at least look away. That’s rude. But overall this is a really good restaurant. Great vibe, aesthetic and food

I had never heard of CAYA, it’s off the main road and never saw even though we walk the area often. What a gem! The staff is extremely welcoming and pleasant. Service was excellent and the food was outstanding!!!! Highly recommend this place.

I had such high hopes for Caya. Everything about the menu sounded exciting, I read the infatuation article about it prior to travelling to Aruba. The rice and beans were delicious, so were the Tostones, and the complementary bread however, those dishes are merely meant to be Accessories, if you will, to the main courses. Now, the main courses were the true disappointment. I ordered the Creole fish which was supposed to be a red snapper fillet over a salsa. The fillet was tough and rubbery, and unlike any experience I have ever ever had with a red snapper. Red snapper is loved for its fluffy white fillet texture, but I was met with a well done almost tuna like texture upon first bite. The fillet was also under salted and under seasoned. I could barely finish it and had to say she ate my hunger with the rice and peas and tostones. My partner got the chicken with a side of sweet potato gnocchi. The chicken was delicious, juicy and tender! On the other hand, the gnocchi was, like the fish, under salted and under seasoned. the tomato based sauce tasted oddly sweet and the gnocchi texture simply lost its Bite once in the mouth. It felt more like a pudding in the shape of gnocchi. I’m glad the desserts were absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. My partner got the lemon dessert and I got the Tres leches. Our server, I can’t remember his name, was attentive yet un passionate and disengaged with the menu and lacked and enthusiasm. For the premium cost that this restaurant demands, I expected a bit more of an enthusiastic waiter, also considering that this is a newer restaurant. I truly wished for a better dining experience, but I must be honest!
