Disappointed- for the price, I would have thought the quality and distinctiveness of the food would have been better. The food was ok, but unforgettable and bland. The drinks were bland and watered down. While the space is fun, we were constantly interrupted by people coming in to order ice cream and by servers passing by. The lighting was horrific- why red lightbulbs? I was having major FOMO with the food from food stalls outside the restaurant...wish I spent my money there instead.

Was disappointed mostly in the value for the meal. The team was great, but I wished I had dropped the $200+ elsewhere. Nothing was actively BAD, but also none of the dishes were that remarkable either.

A well designed and fair introduction to Kaiseki! Our favorites were the Seabass sushi starter and Fig Mousse. Great job to the staff and chef! Loved the cute chopstick holders too!

I was a little apprehensive about my booking after reading some of the reviews, but I really enjoyed my meal. The flavors are more subtle, compared to most western cuisines, but that is the beauty of Japanese cooking. The lightest dish was the soup that had a very light fish broth with shrimp balls, which was probably my favorite. I loved that I had to concentrate a little on what I was consuming. The only complaint I would have is that I wish the rice had been served with the miso salmon, as I found the fish a little salty. I would have loved to cut it with the mushroom rice dish, which did feel a little bland on its own, but maybe it served as a palate cleanser? There was a pho/tequila drink cocktail that I found great, and really enjoyed having star anise in alcohol. There were also quite a number of mocktail options on the menu. With the interior itself, our seating was cramped into one section of the restaurant so it did feel like I was dining with four other people. The tables had barely any space to squeeze a person through, and the chairs were this bamboo rattan material that felt flimsy. The lighting was also a little too red, so I hope Brick & Mortar will change it to a more soft, neutral color.

This is a great idea and the menu was excellent. My only complaint was the ambience. There were only 20 guests so a communal table would have made for a more social experience.
