The food was lovely and the decor is very plush, if not equal to the food they serve. Definitely a notch up from your standard curry restaurants.

Unfortunately, I rarely write poor reviews. The last one was years ago ago. we were given a table near the kitchen door despite the restaurant being almost empty. we asked to be moved, and we were ignored. Then I finally spoke to the manager who said we would be too crushed to another table , I said we would prefer it, and he said it's booked. ...No one sat there in the 1.15 hr we were at the restaurant. It felt like a brush off, and it was very disappointing. We ordered food the service throughout was polite but short thrift. I didn't receive an item. No explanation ( and was later charged for it, then questioned very directly, then it was checked to a waiter in front of os very loudly, and then begrudgingly removed ! Very rude and their mistake) . The food was disappointing we were charged 9.40 for chutney with popadoms, and they are a table spoon each one. The size of the portions was very small ( I'm not a big eater). The lamb chapaaran was flavourful . The lamb biryani is dry and no vegetable curry is accompanied. The vegan korma lacked any flavor . The garlic nan breads dry unflavored cardboard almost . The lamb chops were a big disappointment, 4 paper thin not presented well ( the biryani was presented well), and 1 snallbite each one tough as well at 16.95 Overall, we will not return, and I decided to make this review as it was the reviews that prompted us to book. I didn't know if we caught the manager and staff on a bad day. But it was 7 pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was not busy.

We recently dined at Chutney House for what was meant to be a special occasion meal. Our reservation was for 5 pm, so upon arrival, the restaurant was empty, and therefore, we would have expected better service. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The food was far from authentic Indian cuisine and lacked any seasoning. The butter chicken was raw and chewy, and it was definitely not cooked thoroughly. This was a major disappointment and a health concern. The service was extremely slow and unresponsive. We requested water for the table multiple times, which was never brought out. Additionally, no cutlery or serving spoons were provided despite our repeated requests, forcing us to use teaspoons to serve our food. This level of service is unacceptable. The fizzy drinks we ordered were watered down and flat, forcing us to switch to bottled cokes instead. Overall, Chutney House failed to meet our expectations on every front. The poor service and subpar food made what should have been a special occasion quite disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Indian food or decent service.

Rather underwhelming overall. Great decor and a nice feel to the place, but the food was average - both in flavour and portion size. There are 2 better alternatives not far away!

Overall prices, tiny portions and poor service from the staff. When you speak with them, they try and shut you down which is very unprofessional. The price is overpriced and the quality of the food is poor and the portions are tiny! I addition to this, their food is not as described on the menu. When questioned, they reply with ‘that’s how we make it’ and ‘we don’t make it that traditional way’ which should be advised to customers to begin. Definitely would not recommend

Food very bland and not authentic. No tandoor for the Nans either. Just warmed up and served. Pricey for poor food. Never go there again
