From the OpenTable editors: Located in the same Santa Monica building as his fine-dining restaurant Mélisse, one-MICHELIN-Starred Citrin is the namesake project from chef Josiah Citrin.     Giving this restaurant 1 star. When we had walked in they told us our table wasn’t ready and wouldn’t be for another 20 minutes and had put us in a corner table instead cramped near other couples. The food was very disappointing and took 20 minutes to come between each meal. We had to ask for bread since we were waiting for so long and they charged us for that too. We had some allergies and noted that to the server, but when we got our bill they had charged us for “health modification”. Absolutely ridiculous, I’ve never heard or seen such a thing. They milk you for money and rather charge you, did they want you to experience an allergy attack!?! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

    I had an amazing experience at Citrin. Oyster complement from the chef, the ambience was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the food was so so good. The egg caviar and lobster bolognese stood out to me the most! Cocktails were also spectacular, especially the Brown Sugar, and Ready for Love. Definitely recommend!!

    Isacc was amazing! We went during Dine LA which would not recommend if you enjoy their regular menu. Larger crowds but Isacc made sure we got the full experience.

    We remembered how much we enjoyed #DineLA last year and decided we needed some cheering up Dinner at Citrin was the perfect antidote. A surprise recommendation of poached halibut for the second course exceeded our expectations and the 1/2 bottle of Ridge Cabernet 2022 was magnificent with our mains. Sigh. Wonderful. Thank you.

    My wife and I are here as part of Dine LA. Honestly, the food was pretty good but the portions are very small. After the 4 course meal set as part of Dine LA, we were still hungry. Also, the time in between course 1 and course 2 was 45 minutes!! That just felt too long.

    We went on Saturday night and it was raining outside and the hostess tried to sit us outside by ourselves. We asked to go inside and sat at the bar. Ar that point we weren’t sure this was a good idea. However the ‘happy hour’ menu had a lot of the dishes on the DineLA menu st half off plus we got to try the Mélisse burger that was only served at the bar. The burger was fantastic and worth the change in seating. Overall the food is great. Worth a visit.
