   This was a very disappointing Thanksgiving for my family and I. Thanksgiving Reservation at 5:45 P.M and at around 6:30 PM we had been told more than 3 times our food would we be right out. We left without Thanksgiving Dinner My family and I made reservations for the Claim Jumper Thanksgiving dinner on 11/2/2024. We were sat at our booth and the server took our order in a timely manner (on pen and paper.) The booth next to us ordered after us with the same server. Time passed and my daughter’s dinner came out and appetizer. A new larger group was sat at a table next to us after we put our order in. They received their soups and salads before us and a few minutes later they received their main entrees (they had a different server). Now both groups sitting in the booths with the same server have no soups/no salads or main entrees. The server tells us that our food should be out soon. We are okay at this point; my daughter is still eating. More time pass she checks with us and tell us the food should be out soon. The booth next to us gets their food, but we still only have my daughter’s food at the table. My sister walks up to our server, who is with the manager (we find this out later) and she verbalized she will check. We wait some time and no food arrives. We flagged down another server to ask for a manager. He goes and walks over to the David to come to our table. David comes over and asked us how he can help. We tell him that our food isn’t out and that our soups and salads were late (in comparison to the table next to us) he then replies, in what I felt was a defensive and rude tone, “But you got the salads and soup.” I then tell him that our reservation was at 545 and it is now around 630 PM and we have been asking for our main food and are being told “it would be right out”, “just another minute” or the “kitchen is backed up”. There was no sense of urgency to help us so we left.

   As always, Claim Jumper Costa Mesa’s ambience is aesthetic. Our food got mixed up but was quickly fixed somehow we felt the amount of turkey given was not enough (more like an afterthought after they fixed the wrong orders). The apple pie was a letdown (tasted like it was from those frozen pies), the pumpkin cream cheese pie was too sweet, skimped on gravy or whatever fixin was supposed to be on top of turkey and mashed potatoes. I love dining at Claim Jumper on a regular day but maybe not for the Thanksgiving Feast.

   First time spending Thanksgiving with Claim Jumpers. The food was great, portions were perfect. Many options to choose from. Our server was exceptional, friendly and very attentive. General Manager took the time to greet the guests at each table. Only thing missing was a dinner roll 😊 see you next year

   I was extremely impressed by everything today. Everyone was friendly from the first face, and we were quickly brought to our table. The place was huge and beautiful, reminding me of Yellowstone Lodge, but with a much darker stain, and quite full, but tables were still open for other reservations. We ordered, and it seemed as if the food magically appeared in the shortest amount of time. The food was top notch, very flavorful, and so much we clearly have leftovers for the weekend. In addition, we had a gentleman clearing tables ask us if we needed anything. It has been a while since I have seen employees, who were that attentive to customer needs. My only complaint is that I was shocked that they did not offer some form of roll, or specialty bread. We will return next year!

   The service and atmosphere were great. I ordered the tri tip. Tough as nails then they gave me the prime rib. Same tough and no taste. Worst ever. If it was half decent I would have been ok but neither were doable. So then I just went with the turkey and it was good. This was all on the thanksgiving list to order so maybe a regular night it would be better. Manager handled it all very well and very professional.

   We love Claim Jumper and wish there were more still around. We have eaten Thanksgiving dinner there for years now. We will be back again next year. Our server was great too.

   Thanksgiving Day My family has been going to CJ for many many Turkey day meals. Always a great selection of entrees if you're not a turkey lover. Service is attentive and friendly. Food is hot, delicious and plentiful. Great value for this holiday meal.

    Early for our reservation but was seated before others waiting, Thankfully! Great cosy booth for the 2 of us, great service, Delicious food & drinks! Will definitely Return!
