   Servers were polite but our entrees were forgotten and had to follow up twice, finally came out when we were finished our mains. Also one of our desserts never turned up and we had to leave. Food was not great and didn't come with what was stated on the menu. Senior meal was smaller than the kids meals. Schnitzel was chewy and tough. Had to chase servers for water and everything else as they didn't come back to check. Signature drinks were different to usual and not as nice. We decided we wouldn't be back as it is not cheap either. At least the robot waiters gave a little entertainment.

   Hi Cathy, Sorry for your recent experience. When we bought this restaurant it was in a poor state. We have had to upgrade everything throughout the bar and kitchen. This has taken some time as it has been a very busy time for us. The pricing is something that Cobb Group set as a franchise and we have no say over this. The ipads in the children's area are being upgraded at the moment by head office. We are the busiest that the restaurant has ever been over this time of the year and the staff are learning to adapt with that. We really appreciate your feedback and will thrive to make sure that it doesn't happen again.

   Our meals were delicious, the lamb , pork and steak were cooked perfectly. The veges were fresh and tasty and the flavors of the sauces etc were spot on. The desserts were great too. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and the musician was great too.

   Dined at Cobb and Co, Taupo with my two kids on our last night of holiday. The wrong meal was brought out for my daughter, the waitress took it back to the kitchen but no one returned with any explanation. After waiting for about 10 mins, I asked what was happening to be told “it’s coming”. When it arrived it was the wrong meal again. Again the waitress took it back to the kitchen with no explanation or and expectation of how long my girls meal would be. When the correct meal finally arrived, my boy was already finished and I was almost finished. Not long after delivering the third meal and while we were still eating mains, we were asked if we wanted to order desert. A bit unusual when not yet finished mains but we went ahead and ordered anyway. Again, the deserts delivered to the table were not the ones we ordered and again, they went back to the kitchen with no apology and no explanation or expectation of how long it would take to correct. When the correct order finally came, the one order that was correct had clearly been left sitting in the kitchen while they prepared the other and the ice cream was completely melted and the warm doughnuts cold when it finally came back out. The worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant even if a basic family restaurant. We will definitely never return and never recommend to others. Some basic communication from the staff would have gone a long way as I completely understand that mistakes happen but it seems they don’t know basic customer service. I would have given feedback directly when we paid the bill if we had of been asked ‘how was everything’ but even that didn’t happen so it seems no one cares anyway.

   Yes #17. Let yourself known if you were to try again - we will make sure you get a discount or a dessert for free. Once again, so sorry about your experience ... it is not how we want our customers to feel when they leave the restaurant.

   When we got to our booked table it hadn’t been wiped down, there was meat still on my partners menu. They didn’t have a few meals that were listed but we weren’t advised upon seating. The wings were really dry. The lady bringing our food out seemed rude and was carrying the kids deserts with her thumb in the end. Place looked run down an overall filthy. Rest of the food was ok, some over cooked but ok. The lady taking our order was lovely as well as the young man bringing our drinks. Very regretful having chose to go here over the Rotorua restaurant which is always fantastic in every way. I wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t visit again.

   Group of 7 people Dining in at Cobb & Co Taupo on Saturday 28th December Food we did receive was good, unfortunately both my Wife & Daughter in Law never received their Main Meals, after asking 2 Waitress over a period of 45 Minutes where was the 2 Meals we finally got an answer from a 3rd Waitress whom stated that for some reason they had been forgotten, her blase' attitude towards the whole situation did not help & we seemed to be just flogged off, one of the 3 Waitresses even just put her head in her hands & then disappeared never to come back to us with any type of answer Both my Wife & Daughter in Law by this stage were over it & told the Waitress it was now too late as everyone else was well & truly finished eating, Both were offered either a Garlic Bread or a Dessert as some type of conversation "Really" Worth also noting during this time we also ordered Drinks/Cocktails which took 40 Minutes to get which was somewhat also frustrating as it wasn't busy at all. Again, we asked the Waitress how long the drinks were going to be but were told that we would be next, There was no one else waiting for Drinks & after the Waitress went up the Bar, the Drinks were made, Clearly, we again had been forgotten, On Leaving & paying on the way out the Male Receptionist was advised of the entire situation, he was also very Blase" in regards to the entire situation & when questioned by myself in regards to the fiasco he became quite rude & obnoxious All in all the Dining Experience was a shocker & beyond a joke, If I wanted to deal with a bunch of Clowns I would have gone to McDonalds

   Great place to eat and the atmosphere was great, lovely space for the children to be occupied while waiting for food or after. We enjoyed a variety of mains including the kids menu and everyone said the food was tasty, flavoursome and steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare). I would recommend more lighting in the area where we were seated in as it was quiet dark. Thank you for the yummy experience.

   So dissapointed after a previous great visit, this visit has left a terrible impression and we won't be back. The wait staff were so unprofessional, rude and inattentive. The restaurant was very quiet when our table of 8 dined, maybe 25% full. We had waited over 20mins and no one had taken our drinks or food order, we had to request this twice before the orders were taken. Two orders were incorrect including our toddlers. The replies from the wait staff were dismissive and rude. When one plate of food was placed on table the server heavily knocked my husbands beverage, spilling about 1/3 of it - she NEVER apologised only said "oh oops", never came back to clean it up or offered to replace the spilt drink, so we essentially paid for a beer but only got to drink 2/3 of it and also had to use all the napkins on our table to clean up her mess. The food itself was average and some of it barely warm, this left us confused as we had a view of the kitchen and could see the staff relaxed and chatting, and again the restaurant was not full so why the food was served in this condition is baffling. We had to ask 3 times for take away containers. At no point did anyone ever ask if our meal was satisfactory or if we needed a second round of drinks (lost income for Cobb & Co there!). When settling our bill two of the wait staff were behind the counter and I said how disappointed we were with the service especially the girl who spilt my husbands drink and never came to clean it up (she was at the counter now) - she was dismissive and said we should have "asked" for her to come back and clean it up. In frustration I said we didn't want to pay for the beer and to take it off the bill to which she replied "I can't do that because he drank the rest of it" . Appalling, unprofessional, and we won't be back.

   Good Afternoon Candice, Thank you for your feedback. I am appalled to hear about your experience. I see that you came into dine with us at 6.33pm and at that time the restaurant was quite busy plus we had a lot of delivery/ takeaway orders but that in mind you should not of had a experience like you had. We usually do upwards of 600 meals a day without a hitch so am baffled as to why we let our guard down on this occasion. We bought this restaurant in November in a run down state and have been dedicated to getting it back to Taupos best restaurant as it once was. We have had to upgrade everything before the crazy season started. The staff are a big part of our business and hearing this is unacceptable and i will be addressing these issues. We hope to put things right for you in the future

    This is a nostalgic place that holds special childhood memories and it never fails to disappoint. Friendly staff, great ambiance and great food with all the classic menu items. Even puzzles and jokes on the back of the menu. Highly recommended.
