Located at the Northwest corner of Culdesac, a beautiful and passionate walkable community in Tempe, Arizona. Cocina Chiwas is a chef driven Mexican Restaurant with delicious food, cocktails and an intoxicating atmosphere.     Exceptional food and fantastic atmosphere. The food is as imaginative as it is delicious. I recently had a sweet potato barata and a special of bbq pork. The wood fired birria quesadillas are a must have staple. All of the accolades are well earned. I love that the hip, family-friendly atmosphere is appropriate for both a fun night out and for a special occasions.

    Picked Cocina Chiwas to introduce my parents to excellent modern Mexican food. Always pleased to get a reservation at Cocina (hint: early is easier). The food is impeccably well done with a shifting seasonal menu that is fresh and vibrant. Adrian is at the top of his game slinging cocktails and making guests feel very welcome. I’ve never been disappointed with a meal here.

    Excellent food - we were surprised by the menu and really enjoyed everything. The beet salad was great and the pork shank was outstanding. Home made blue corn tortillas were very tasty. Highly recommended.

    The Chile relleno was outstanding. The portions were good and not overwhelming. The chair legs in the dining room could use some soft pads.

    While our service was amazing, food came out in a very timely matter, the taste of the food for the money fell short. The queso was fairly runny, ceviche was just filleted shrimp. HOWEVER the ribeye was amazing, as well as the Elote corn. Every dish’s flavor was good, just a little too expensive for what you got.

    We went for the Wednesday taco platter (my favorite) and they were no longer on the menu :( we ended up leaving to get tacos elsewhere. Disappointing bring them back!!

    Food is very good, I just didn’t care for the entree I ordered. Mussels with chorizo. I like chorizo and spice, it was just a little and overwhelmed the mussels. I’ll just order a different option next time.
