Following last year’s hugely successful Brunch with Santa, we’re delighted to bring them back for another year. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting families from near and far and can’t wait to welcome back the big man himself for another month of fun! We have a range of dates to choose from but do be careful as they sell out quickly. On the day you’ll enjoy a hearty brunch for adults (hot drink included) and we more than look after the wee ones with food & drink and of course a visit and gift from Santa. Located in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town and at the foot of Castle Rock our Rooftop is in prime position to take in the sights and sounds of the festivities. From the warmth and comfort of your own outdoor table, you’ll enjoy your welcome dram or Prosecco, delicious sharing platters of food and of course, when the bells ring and the Castle fireworks start above your heads we all celebrate with another round of drinks to toast the new year. Very slow service, had to ask them to take our main meal plates away as was sat with them for 30 mins, then I had to ask them to bring our desserts out as we had pre ordered everything, cakes took 25 mins to Come and came freezing Cold and paid £7-8 for the cakes each and was such let down. My mam who’s birthday it was they forget her meal even though we had pre ordered weeks in advance, so she had to wait 20 mins for her meal and we had all finshed our meal by the time my mams meal came. Didn’t come over once and ask if everything was okay At all, my mam was just walking to bar to get a drink as was quicker. Singers were great but staff and service and food was such a let down. We come to Edinburgh every year and always come here but this year felt very let down and won’t be returning for food

So festive and fun!! Great live music - fantastic pizza and apps. Really good beer with interesting flavors. Service was spotty but overall really fantastic Sunday night at Cold town.

First time visitor . Booked roof top terrace weeks in advance , knowing it was taking a chance in November. Right enough snow storm hit day of our visit . Staff phoned to make us aware of weather and moved our booking inside ,few hours later another call from staff to say grassmarket had a power cut and phoned again when electricity was back on … visited had a great night ( only drinks didn’t order food) … all made possible by the great communication by the staff … will def visit again

Cold town house is a beautiful atmosphere and the staff were incredible. Our server Amy was so lovely and bubbly, she recommended cocktails which were absolutely divine !! Overall we loved the food the drinks and the staff.

Service was not the best. Took almost 40 minutes to order, we had to go find a server. Food was good but had to send one thing back as not hot. Good took 50 minutes to arrive after being told would take 30 minutes as busy. Girl who served us was lovely and told us at the end she had only been there a few weeks but the others almost looked through us when trying to get their attention. Won’t be heading back there in a hurry.

We four people as a family was assigned with a small round table. The staff reminds us every 10 minutes in the last 30 minutes to return table. Feel not very welcoming. The food is average and is pricy for the food it offers. Kids receive a colour pen set to draw. That’s a merit.
