Cocktails are good. They need a better wine list by the glass. They have a couple decent red ones, but most are very mediocre to a more particular palate. Service was okay, but we've had better in the past. Food was good comfort food and fairly generous portions, but quality and options aren't what they used to be from two years ago. Great view but the bench seats don't have enough cushion in them and the high top seats are way to low for the table.

We are in Tucson for a few months. We are always so excited to come to the Commoner. This year was a disappointment. Our waiter was not attentive. The steak was no longer on the menu. My meal for gf was minimized to salmon and fries. The salmon was tasty. But no vegetables. The one cocktail we each were able to get were good. So maybe in the future it will be back to its awesomeness.

This establishment is worth a try, simple menu which covers a variety of dishes, the professional staff is attentive and knowledgeable. I'd recommend it to family and friends for a good casual dining experience.

So seriously, one of the best experiences I’ve had at Commoner. David, our server was so great! Honest and directed us to pick the best dishes. The food was incredible with a couple modifications. Sometimes I think that they add too many ingredients to the dishes (not a fan of goat cheese and pine nuts ) so we cut a few out and it was so deliciously prepared even without them. I like going early when the noise level is lower. But I bet it’s fun when it’s really busy. Thanks Commoner! We will be back because we’re locals.

The food and service were good. Only negative is we picked the place based on it being a top 10 place to see a sunset in Tucson. This was not at all something possible from this restaurant. This info should be updated. Pics of restaurant exterior were not accurate. However, Ethan provided amazing service and food was good.

Commoner & Co. is a neighborhood gem that we sometimes dine at. The quality of the food and service has been consistently high. On our most recent visit, my dining companion ordered and thoroughly enjoyed the airline chicken. When I scanned the online menu before we left, I decided I would order the New York strip. However, when we arrived, I learned that they had removed the steak from the chicken and replaced it with a short rib pot pie. I ordered the crab orecchiette, which was surprisingly bland. I don’t recommend it, unless you object to flavor. The wine and service were excellent and I enjoyed the boisterous Saturday evening atmosphere (my dining companion, not so much).

Food and drinks are excellent, and always have been, but this is the second time we’ve been where the service / seating area / ambience is lacking. The restaurant seems confused in trying to strike a balance between fine dining and casual dining / bar experience. They have a separate restaurant seating area and bar area with TVs, but the restaurant area is a bit cramped and doesn’t flow with the rest of the building. Also, I specifically put in our reservation request through Open Table that it was a date night without kids (which is a rarity for us), and the hostess seated us next to the only table with young children right next to us (love our kids and the ones next to us were well behaved, but she almost seemed offended when my husband discreetly got up to ask the hostess to request that we be moved, making a snide comment as she re-seated us). The manager saved the evening when he brought out our appetizer and made us more comfortable by turning our table so we could enjoy sitting next to each other. Again, amazing food and drinks, but difficult service experience and set up.
