   Unsatisfied with this place, they seem to lack manners. I came in in a celebratory mode and was shushed by the manager for it. Not asked to lower my voice but shushed in a rude manner. I asked the manager for an apology but he refused and threatened with calling the police. Learn some manners if you want to run a restaurant in this city, it's a melting pot of many different ethnicities and one should not be treated differently or LESS for not being white. Not to mention, if you're not content with someone you are not to shush people, you are to instead speak up and address others in a KIND and respectful manner.

   The service was great. The attendants were very attentive and patient with the children, doing everything possible to make them comfortable, despite the natural mess of small children. Everything we ate was wonderful, with a special mention for the tuna tartare and mushroom ravioli

   Lovely new restaurant from the Vicolino. Beautifully decorated, and the same delicious food and service. Maybe the best Cosmopolitan in town.

   The service and atmosphere at this restaurant is wonderful. Some of the food is quite good and my wine was also good, but I have tried the salmon twice and have asked for it rare. They only seem to be able to make it done. If you like salmon done, then you will like it, but I was disappointed. Other dishes were much better. I have been to the restaurant a number of times now and, on balance, it is a good place to eat.

   First time at Costa - as a transformed establishment (it used to be a diffrent restaurant with a "speak easy bar" behind a panel. I believe they combined under common ownership with the italian restaurant next door. New menu is broad (combo of Middle Eastern/Mediteranian and Italizn (see restaurant combo comment above). It is well priced for the area (middle of the road with $17-$20 glasses of wine and $30-$50 entrees. Service was attentive and tables were well spaced. However, my first choice for Entee from the menu (Halibut) was sold out and my 2nd choice (Chicken Milanese) with mashed potatoes and brissel sproats ($29) came out with only the protein being hot. Plate sent back and return promptly with sides at correct temp. My wife order the Trout special and reported it was "very good"

   Salads, pasta entree and chocolate cake dessert were good, but chicken and fish entrees and cheesecake dessert were overcooked and dry. The back room is loud, but the front room has nice ambiance. On a previous quieter night we had very good chicken and fish entrees.

    My husband and I ate at Costa with friends, another couple, and very much enjoyed our food. It’s great to be able to eat in a NY restaurant where you can actually hear each other speaking without having to scream at each other. Unfortunately, the restaurant charges a 3 percent surcharge for credit card users. That left a bad taste in my mouth.
