   Had a lovely experience as always with Cote in Exeter who accommodated an earlier table for us which we appreciated. Great food and great service as always.

   Wonderful meal great value . Lovely friendly and helpful staff . A most enjoyable lunch with friends in an excellent restaurant . As a coeliac , I really appreciate the restaurants understanding of the need for safe gluten free food and the wide choice they offer . Thank you .

   I hate to leave a bad review but our meal at Cote was terrible. Half of our main courses were badly cooked, either dry, cold or in the case of the belly pork, undercooked and gelatinous. But worse than that and the reason we didn’t want to send food back, was the service. We were squashed onto a table that was too small. Great start. We were then alternately ignored or scowled at by our two or three servers. A waiter spilled food and then sighed when we asked him to wipe the table. Nobody filled glasses or checked on us in any way. I found myself apologising on more than one occasion for being a nuisance…for trying to order a drink or ask for more water. We have been coming here as a group for ten years or so. We will not be back now. Bad food can be forgiven occasionally but you can’t overlook being treated with contempt by at least three different servers.

   We always enjoy our time at Cote and we weren’t disappointed! Delicious food…. the pumpkin soup was lovely and the new recipe calamari was great too, yummy sea bass and the steak and frites is always a winner! With great service on a cold grey Friday afternoon we loved it and we will be back again soon !

   This was my 60th birthday. The starter was so basic served in a dessert dish. A bit of sourdough & Parma ham, I could have done better! My husbands sea bass was over cooked, very dry. Just not good enough. No recognition of my birthday either unlike the Bath Cotes 2 days before. They were amazing. Very Disappointing. Sadly will not be going there again
