The Art Gallery Restaurant, Crafted by Matt Moran, provides a unique dining experience in one of Sydney’s most stunning dining rooms. Reflecting Moran’s signature style, the restaurant showcases locally sourced produce and premium Australian meat and seafood through a light, Mediterranean-inspired menu guided by the seasons. The drinks menu features an all-Australian wine list as well as Champagne, cocktails, beers, ciders and a substantial non-alcoholic offering. The restaurant is operated in partnership with the Gallery’s culinary advisor, Matt Moran, who works with food and beverage partner The Fresh Collective to execute his vision.
For groups of eight guests or more we offer a group menu which includes three courses, shared entrees and mains & shared dessert. This menu changes with the seasons and is made up of the best of our a la carte menu. It is a fantastic way for your group to feast on a selection of Chef's favourite dishes. Please make us aware of any dietary requirements at hello@craftedbymattmoran.com.au. A 10% service fee is incurred for groups of 8 or more. Table requests are not noted, but are not guaranteed. Enjoy a 3 course set menu lunch along with a ticket to the Rene Magritte -Australia's first retrospective of the celebrated surrealist (located in Naala Nura, our south building until 9 February 2025). Available for 2-7 guests. Tickets must be picked up directly from the restaurant on the day of your reservation and not from the gallery ticketing desk. Feel free to collect your ticket before lunch or upon arrival for your reservation. Please be aware that credit card details are collected solely for our no-show policy, and full payment for the lunch package and any beverages is due at the conclusion of your meal. We were seated by the friendly and extremely busy maître D. Then totally ignored by staff standing around empty-handed and walking past doing nothing much. Eventually we had to wave someone down who seemed to be astonished at this even though we were sat with nothing at all in front of us. We ordered a pair tips and Water and starters and mains. To our dismay our starters came before any Water or gin and tonics. I said he would really like our drinks before the food. If you don’t mind which spun the waitress into circling the restaurant with our starters looking confused the maître D bought our gene tonics eventually and we were presented with the same scallops as before, but this time they had been around the restaurant for all to see several times. The food was delicious. The service was rubbish. We tipped the waiter as he was friendly and apologised but we felt it was all a bit of a joke to them. We are members of the art gallery and go to Chiswick. Very disappointing.

The staff were absolutely wonderful, as were the ambience and the view over Sydney. The food, however, was more or less as interesting as the menu in a run-of-the mill inner city pub.

A friend and I chose this restaurant for a long overdue catch up. It was ideal. The food was delicious and plenty. The wait staff attentive but not intrusive. The noise level was well managed and allowed for an easy conversation with no difficulty in hearing each other. We left very happy, and, will be back again for a repeat. Thanks to all for a great dining experience.

Excellent food and service for our group of 9. Every request was happily catered for including seating arrangement for an elderly friend with a leg injury and two other friends with dietary restrictions, our waiter was attentive, respectful and friendly. We enjoyed the shared meal which was generous and delicious. Happy to recommend

As we were a table of 2 a window seat was not available but when a table for 4 became available we asked to be moved and as it wasn’t busy we did. It was great sitting at the window.

Excellent service - on arrival we were shown to our table which subsequently we changed due to noise level of group at next door table - no problem we were accommodated straight away.
Service was excellent, food lived up to expectations - good value.
On booking I mentioned 'my guest's birthday' and a delightful touch was produced by the chef - a candle/chocolate 'Happy Birthday' on dessert plate! Thankyou.
