   This is one of our favorite places to dine and drink great wine. Unfortunately, our last two visits have been for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve events. Both times the service was less than acceptable. When you make a reservation a month in advance and then get asked to sit at the bar when it’s your Birthday and Christmas Eve that is unacceptable and then everything was so rushed. Do not take my plate off of the table while I am still eating it do not take away my glass of wine when there is still wine in the glass over and over again if you can’t handle these events, then don’t put them on. I should not have to feel rushed, especially on a special occasion. I am a first responder so I have to work the holidays and I take advantage of these event offerings on the holidays because we love this place and then to be treated like all you wanna do is push us out the door so you can go home is unacceptable. And since when is it acceptable after we pay our tab for you to come and take the check off my table while I’m still sitting there finishing my drink. Wait until I get up and leave the table! Debating whether or not I will return for one of those events again. All other visits have been amazing.

   I really enjoyed this restaurant! I came up from Wilmington NC and took my Durham native mother there. It was an awesome Thanksgiving meal that we enjoyed and did not have to clean up.

   No welcome drink was offered as advertised. My husband asked for it and got it but that was odd. Bread was ice cold, desert was frozen in the middle, and risotto appetizer had lobster that tasted “off”. Super disappointing for a holiday meal.

   Appetizer and dessert were cold. Felt rushed with the pre-set menu. Service was wonderful & main course lovely.

   Wine was great. Staff was polite and friendly. Food was mostly good. They ran out of fries (at 6pm) and had to substitute fries for scalloped potatoes (which were cold). The space was nice with beautiful chandeliers but they were turned up so bright it felt like dining in the surface of the sun. It wasn’t quite fluorescent lighting but close because it was so bright. They really need to dim the lighting. It ruined the ambiance of what a wine bar should be. For that reason alone I probably won’t go back unfortunately.
