Alba transports guests to an urbanite’s Italian holiday. A restaurant where the food and ambiance is at once seductive and polished, playful and grown-up. It is the new home for gallery goers and denizens of New York’s newest starchitect high-rises.

Head chef Adam Leonti places an imaginative spin on Italian cuisine. Author of Flour Lab, Leonti bakes his signature Focaccia in a Roman oven and serves with whipped ricotta.

Cobi Levy, Julian Black, and Will Makris' Prince Street Hospitality Group established Cucina Alba in August 2022.

My partner and I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, there were issues. Our reservation was questioned, even though we had confirmed it for a party of two. The staff seemed skeptical, as if I hadn’t completed the reservation properly or as if we didn't belong there. Once seated, a young lady came to our table and greeted us warmly. She was pleasant, patient, and took our drink orders, even complimenting my choice. She was very helpful in explaining the menu and set a good tone initially. However, without any notice or introduction, a gentleman came to take over the order process. There was no communication about this switch, which felt abrupt and awkward. When my partner asked questions about the menu, the gentleman's tone was sharp and dismissive. For example, I mentioned that I have a shellfish allergy, and his response was curt: “Well, easy, no shrimp for you.” The tone and lack of sensitivity were off-putting, especially considering the seriousness of allergies. This dismissive approach was quite frustrating. We then asked some follow-up questions regarding a dish, particularly about whether dark meat could be avoided, as neither of us eats it. Rather than addressing our request professionally, the gentleman engaged in banter, suggesting that we could simply “eat around it, or it could or couldn't be removed This dismissive attitude toward a reasonable request was very disappointing. At this point, we decided to just close out for our drinks and leave, as we felt unwelcome and undervalued as paying customers. We couldn’t help but notice a lack of diversity in the establishment, and, as two Black gay men, we left feeling that we may not have been treated fairly.

Alba delivers time and time again. Our service for a group of 7 was flawless and their attention to one of our group’s allergies was beyond comendable. We had the app ravioli and focaccia followed by the orrechete, tuna tar tar, the special steak (30 oz was a perfect size to share with the entire table) with side of broccolini and potatoes. Everything was so delicious!!

If you love variety and quality, you'll love Cucina Alba. We were not super hungry so we ordered several fish and vegetable apps. Each was unusual, very tasty, and the perfect portion size. Our waitress was helpful and attentive. We enjoyed every bite and every minute.

The Monday night pizza was absolutely delicious and I can definitely see myself returning just for that. I did feel like the service could have been a little better as I had to flag down someone every time I needed something as opposed to other restaurants which constantly have someone checking on you. The service was NOT terrible I just was expecting more from this place. Overall dinner was great and I will definitely be returning, just hoping for a little better service next time.

They put us in the overflow room and we’re pretty rude when we checked in. If I wanted to eat at Alba Accanto, I would’ve made a reservation there.
