When visiting the restaurant, patrons descend 18 feet underground in a canopied glass elevator, accessed from street level, for a culinary experience unlike any other. The American Steakhouse offers an expansive 1,800 square foot subterranean courtyard allowing patrons to dine al fresco and enjoy a New Orleans-inspired exterior space. This cool oasis is complete with a 20 foot, 5-tiered granite water wall, multi-tiered landscaping, lava rock fire pit, and black granite bar. Dakota's below-ground patio has long been considered one of the city's most romantic dining spots.

We believe the best steaks come from the best cut and quality. That’s why we get all of our beef fresh from renowned beef purveyors, Allen Brothers. Each cut is corn and grain fed USDA Prime steak that our chef handpicks. Each steak is aged for a minimum of 28 days for a perfectly tender, juicy bite every time.

It is our goal to give you a great meal every time you join us for lunch or dinner.

We loved our experience at Dakota’s! It was our 16th anniversary which I noted in our reservation and we were given a special booth with an anniversary card and rose petals-so kind! Henry was an excellent server and explained everything well. Our food was beyond delicious. Can’t wait to come back.

The restaurant had my request with reservations DO NOT MAKE RESERVATION WITH DAKOTAS ! It’s at your risk! I made reservation two weeks in advance. I want the patio. The reservation gives two choices bar or dining room. I’m a regular open table user. I chose bar. I come in wearing tux and and put in the tiny bar and a high top, no less. I ask check In host and he says you list bar. We have two dining rooms. Dining room or patio. You chose bar. I showed him open table reservation and choice. He said I should have called and asked for patio! He could /would do nothing more! I requested this Look at my reservation “Prefer the “grill area” by TVs I’ll be in black tie” And they acknowledged “Yes, you made your reservation for the bar. We will have a spot reserved for you up there. “ It did not happen! Evening was ruined. Yes we had a black tie to attend, we favored Dakotas for a meal prior. DO NOT RESERVE DAKOTAS, without calling first! .

We celebrated our anniversary at Dakota’s on Saturday afternoon, and it was an unforgettable experience. Over the years, we’ve dined at restaurants around the world, and one thing we’ve learned is that no matter how good the food may be, poor service can overshadow it. Thankfully, this wasn’t the case at Dakota’s. Ryan, our server, took what would have been a “good” experience and elevated it to a truly phenomenal one. His professionalism, attentiveness, and warm demeanor reminded us of one other exceptional server we encountered years ago at an upscale restaurant in Spain. Ryan made us feel genuinely welcomed and even more excited to be there than we already were. Even if the food hadn’t exceeded our expectations (though it absolutely did), Ryan’s outstanding service would have made our anniversary celebration a memorable event. Thanks to him, Dakota’s has earned a permanent spot in our celebration rotation. Please extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Ryan for going above and beyond to make our day so special.
