Beautiful Modern Mediterranean restaurant by Chefs Laura and Sayat (Star Chefs and San Francisco Chronicle Rising Stars) at the Main Parade Lawn in the heart of the Presidio National Park. The restaurant's menus feature Presidio-inspired seasonal craft cocktails, a progressive wine menu, and a cuisine that balances the comfort of familiar Mediterranean flavors with California sensibilities.

In cohesion with the Presidio National Park, the design features soft, natural colors; repurposed furniture items from the Presidio; and a mural and a hand-drawn wall paper by Bay Area artist Emily Parkinson. Diners can enjoy a patio with a view of Alcatraz; an intimate private dining room; a lofty main dining room surrounded by windows on two sides; a cozy bar that is a local favorite; and an open-concept kitchen counter with counter seats and high tables.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Laura and Sayat

From the OpenTable editors: This Presidio restaurant—where the food is just as stunning as the Bay views—is founders Laura and Sayat Ozyilmaz love letter to the Eastern Mediterranean. The menu is meant for sharing; the fluffy pitas are a must-order with hummus and muhammara. Better still, go for the chef's menu, so you can get the best of Dalida's juicy kebabs and seafood that landed it a spot on Esquire's Best New Restaurants list.

This is my favorite restaurant at the moment. The food is extremely well executed, prepared with great care and dedication. I am delighted with the work of Chef Laura and her team. Everyone is incredibly careful with everything. Chef Laura and her husband are lovely people. I recommend it to everyone.

This was our second visit and we will return for more. To start the cocktails were amazing. We sat in the lounge area as we were early for our reservation. We enjoyed new and previously ordered items and were thrilled with everything. Our server gave us great recommendations and the sommelier gave us an overview of the wine choices. Seats at the chefs table were a great way of seeing the workings of the restaurant

We couldn’t decide between all the interesting sounding choices so we ordered the Chef’s menu thinking we’d get a lot of those interesting things. Wrong. The food we got was boring, dreary and ordinary. The fact that the waiter was vague about what was on the Chef’s menu should have been a red flag. Apparently it was all the boring stuff that wasn’t selling. On top of that, the service was even more indifferent than the food. We felt like we were annoying the staff just by being there. I doubt we’ll go back.

Mezze was lovely, breaking bread was a bit skimpy on the bread. The sour cherry kebab was great; reminiscent of Turkish and Kurdish/armenian style combo of meat and sour cherry. The menengic at the end of the meal was sooo nice as was the sour cherry cake! Excellent!

Dalida features amazing options for anyone in a group with its playful and tasty menu. Pescatarian? Vegetarian? Carnivore? There are plenty of options available and each are fantastic. This trip we flirted with the chefs menu but decided to choose our own journey across each section of the menu. I wonder if the chefs menu increases the portion size based on number of people, if so it’s a solid option for the future.
