    Very expensive for not a lot of food. My $30 salad had 4 bites of avocado, beet and blue cheese. A sprinkle of arugula. Would not call it a salad. I don’t remember it being such terrible portions. I suppose goes along with every other place in Portland now.

    Inventive and well-balanced dishes. Poached pear on salad dressed in a perfectly crafted dressing followed by crispy duck breast over risotto and warm but not mushy spinach, under a sweet apple-walnut glaze could not have been better. Even the basic burger my wife had was the best burger she’s had in a long time, accompanied by house-made chips that were light and crisp (but skip those if you’re not a pepper fan and go for the fries instead). Our server could not have been nicer and more helpful, without being pushy or intrusive. And the space is warm and welcoming. We will certainly be back.

    We come back to David’s every time we visit Portland. The food is fresh and locally sourced. The open scratch kitchen is a pleasure to watch, the chefs all seem to work cohesively together and it reflects in the consistency of the dishes! Do yourself a favor if you’re in a group of 4 or less book the kitchen bar seats so you can watch the culinary magic! Yummmm.

    We were among the later diners and while the food and service were good (my wife’s filet medallions were a bit overcooked) we felt rushed to leave when the staff started cleaning around us a 9 pm.
