DenDeke Japanese Bar & Dining is Preston's local slice of Japan! Channelling the retro Izakaya of Tokyo and Osaka, DenDeke draws inspiration from rock 'n' roll and Japanese pop culture nostalgia to bring you back to the swinging 70s in Japan.

Located on Plenty Road between Dundas and Raglan Street, DenDeke features an offering of Izakaya comfort food such as charcoal-grilled meat and seafood, Kaku-ni slow-cooked pork belly, sashimi and Japanese curry crafted by head chef Yasuhiro Kanamoto. DenDeke also boasts an array of Japanese beer, sake, shochu, whisky and cocktails to match the dishes on offer.

Have a refreshing Orion Premium Draft fresh from the tap with some edamame and pan-fried gyoza or enjoy a glass of crisp, aromatic sake with a platter of assorted sashimi and fresh oysters. Be on the lookout for weekly special dishes and premium sashimi options as well. Kanpai!

Just can't help but feeling like I'm on the set of Kill Bill every time I dine here. Awesome food, mind blowing beverage selection and comfortable to stay for a moment or a lengthy stay. One of the best!

Absolutely wonderful evening with friends at this restaurant! The food was authentic Japanese cuisine and the atmosphere was very cool!

The best Japanese food in Melbourne! Lovely staff Great atmosphere Highly recommend this little but big in flavours restaurant Plus it offers a great range of gluten free and vegan meals! Good wine too A++++

the variety of taste sensations on the Menu are exquisite. A fabulous Bar. Great food preparation and great service. Wonderful Japanese restaurant with very reasonable prices.

Den Deke is a great local restaurant at the exciting lower High St end of Preston with really delicious Japanese bar food, interesting and adventurous daily specials and a fine drinks list with good sake, wine and Japanese whisky options. The decor is basic but cosy with Japanese movie posters from the 60's and an industrial look. The manager is a great guy and the regular staff are friendly and efficient. Be sure to book as its small and popular at weekends.
