Denmark House is a small piece of Denmark in the middle of Melbourne CBD. Offering the best of Denmark: wonderful Danish food, served in beautiful Danish design in a enjoyable atmosphere of Danish music and “hygge”, which translates as ‘coziness’.

The New Nordic cuisine is one of the leading gastronomic experiences in the world. Denmark House is part of this Nordic food
revolution and the restaurant and bar will provide you with a traditional yet modern Danish experience.

For lunch we offer 20 different kinds of “smørrebrød” – the traditional Danish open sandwich. You can choose your own selection or go for the tasting platter, a healthy lunch option when you fancy something different.

In the evening we serve a contemporary menu inspired by New Nordic cuisine with an emphasis on comfort foods so guests sample true Danish ‘hygge’ when dining at Denmark House.

    Our popular Christmas buffets are on again this season. Sit under the Danish Christmas tree and enjoy a traditional festive day with all your favourite Danish lunch fare, including gravad laks, herring, roast pork and duck, and of course risalamande (cherry rice pudding) for dessert. Book your table today before they sell out to avoid disappointment. There are only very limited tables left. This seating is from 11am - 2pm There is also a seating from 3pm - 6pm.

    The Smorrebrods are to die for! Amazing selection, presentation and taste. The service is efficient. Cool place and the bar area is very cosy. (although would've liked a bigger selection of Danish beers). A little piece of Denmark in Australia.

    Food was lovely although serving sizes are small if you order individual sandwiches. Nice plunger coffee. It was loud so difficult to converse with my dining partner.

    While the overall experience was good, food very good the service was not of a high standard. One guest ordered a green tea and it was, at best, thrown on the table. Very disappointing and spoilt what was a very good lunch.

    I always enjoy the interaction with the various staff at Denmark House and I learn new things . Now, the service is friendly, the welcome is outstanding and the food is excellent. I return as many times as I can when I am in Melbourne.
