Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Don't Tell Aunty offers a vibrant dining experience with "amazing food and drinks" in a lively atmosphere. The "OG Butter Chicken" and "Chai Felicia" drink are standout favorites. While some found the music loud and service inconsistent, the "creative fusion food" and "fantastic cocktails" make it a promising addition to Boston's food scene.

Overall, Don’t Tell Aunty is more of a fun bar to go to with friends and pre-game prior to going out. The ambiance and atmosphere is lively with loud Bollywood music videos blasting all around the venue. The food quality is mediocre; portions are small, and the prices are a bit high. The okra fries and Goan fish curry are worth trying. But other dishes like the butter chicken and paneer were underwhelming because it doesn’t really contain full pieces of either chicken or paneer, respectively. I don’t recommend getting dessert either at the establishment. Perhaps I’ll give it a few months for the restaurant to set up its operations and update its menu before returning.

Fun spot with a bold vibe. It’s very loud, so don’t come expecting a quiet dinner. The food’s good—interesting takes on familiar dishes. Loved the decor, especially the tree centerpiece. Service was just okay—not bad, but nothing to write home about. Worth a visit for the experience.

We were very excited to try this restaurant. The ambiance was great but the food was not. The appetizers were ok but the main courses were way too spicy, could not even eat it, the paneer dish had a very small amount of paneer, it was mostly sauce, the naan did not seem fresh like I’m use to eating at Indian restaurants and the service was slow. Granted it was a soft opening, so I’m keeping that in mind, but overall I wil not go back as the prices are too high for the lack in quality of food.

Last night ( Friday 28th) was our second visit to your restaurant. My husband and I went two weeks again, sat at the bar, loved it and made a red for last night with our daughter and her husband. We were seated at a 4 top on the left just past the bar. We adore Indian food and have eaten at some great Indian restaurants in NYC/ London so we are super excited that you opened Don’t tell Auntie. Last night was disappointing - we had hummus, chips , kofta in sauce and gouging of fish with mint and tamarind sauces. All were Ok but fish has no spineless and was bland and flavorless. We had lamb vindaloo- not nearly spicy enough and in v watery sauce with not much lamb. Biryanis was also very lacking in flavor. Naan portion is insanely small v any other Indian restaurant I’ve been to. What upset us most was that our server asked us to vacate our table after 2 hours. He was v polite but this is rude - it was Ok during Covid but no longer acceptable. We were so excited to see you open a mere walk from our neighborhood- we want you to be successful but your menu needs more attention- we desperately need a good Indian restaurant in Boston - I think you guys can fill the void by listening to your customers and making some adjustments. Thank you for listening! Eileen 978 761-4961

Food > Drinks >>> Desserts Too expensive and very small portions. But flavors are generally good.

Absolutely loved it. Each dish was amazing. The OG Butter Chicken was our favorite. Chai Felicia drink was lovely. Egg Puff was tasty as was the ice cream sandwich dessert. Will be back for sure.

Food is lovely but the music is far too loud, starters and main course arrived together, no wine list and our bill was wrong - probably because the staff can’t hear anything anyone is saying!

We sat at the bar and all the cocktails we tried were fabulous! The bartenders and restaurant manger were all very attentive and social. The okra fries are a must try.
