   Food was very good. Although some food came out cold but was replaced satisfactorily. Service was excellent. Very expensive. Sound level was very noisy.

   Have been to Drift before and loved it. First time for a prix fixe menu. Disappointed! Food was cold and had no flavor. Food seemed to have been prepared beforehand. For the price, was expecting a memorable New Year’s Eve meal and evening. Was memorable, but not in a good way. I hope Drift was just having a rare bad night.

   Drift is one of our favorites for "nice dinners" and brunch from time to time. Ordinarily we love it...good food and the whole thing. Close to home so it is perfect for us. Though always a little pricier than anywhere else near our area, it has never really left us dissatisifed or feeling totally dismayed and disappointed. The New Years Eve at $100 a person was not a win for us. We also noted other diners around us reacting to the "bite" at the beginning of the meal (couldn't cut it with a knife, could not bite it with your teeth....tough bread, cold brie cheese and slimy prosciutto)...what in the world? then there was the appetizer. Our lobster bisque was cold and we requested another bowl and that also, though they told it was straight from the pot, was still it was no where near the temperature soup should be. I didn't eat my "bite" or more than 2 bites from the soup. The steak I had (filet Oscar) with the crab meat was "okay" but potatoes were ice cold and lacked flavor. No where near the quality and flavor of their usual filets. My husbands New York Strip was tough and covered with a strange brown coating and crunchy capers. He ate less than half of it which is highly unusual for him and he said it was not very tasty and the stuff on top was "..eh". Early on they brought us each a glass of champagne without it being requested and it was barely cool. It ruined my taste for my usual martini and we then didn't order anything else to drink. That was a first for anytime we have been to Drift in our multiple past visits. Desert was the best thing the whole night but by then we were just "done". We are not complainers so honestly we said very little to anyone....it was New Years Eve and we didn't want to be negative. Today though it was a bad memory and we discussed it a lot. Hoping they will make other choices for a menu next time they do this. Less is more. This was not a success for us and from the looks we saw around us...I am sure we were not alone.

   Our server Claudia was awesome on a packed night at prime time. Kitchen did excellent with food/courses. Manager visited table. Was great for a date night.

    Seated promptly. Service contact promptly. Very good service. Corses spaced well. Meals flavorful and presented nicely. Very nice improvement over previous vist.
