First time back since Duner’s changed hands. We were greeted warmly, seated on the porch, which was warm and comfortable. Noise level not as bad as it usually is in the main dining room. Service was perfect, attentive, friendly. Thrilled to see the duck egg rolls and fried oysters still on the menu; they do not disappoint! Crab cakes were stellar, as always. (Duners and Hamiltons are the only places I will order crab cakes in Cville; grew up picking crab so I have high standards and expect crab cakes without filler.) My husband had the lamb and declared it delicious and perfectly prepared. Almond streusel with cherries a al mode was phenomenal, as was my husband’s raspberry chocolate cake. So happy to know the best parts of the old Duners live on.

Great place to eat. My husband and I went there post Valentine’s Day. Busy evening but we were well taken cared of and food was wonderful! Will definitely plan on coming here in the future!

It was Valentine’s Day so quite busy. Great food for the price. My only complaint was sitting on the patio in winter even with heaters and window covers, my tush was cold sitting on the benches. I moved to a chair but the chairs were not comfortable. Service seemed rushed to get us out so the next wave of diners could come in. Overall, I’d go back and will recommend others to check it out. I would like to check out that place on a normal night not on the patio.

1st time eating at Duners, decor is nice, chairs were comfortable. Menu was interesting and varied, had pumpkin and black bean soup for appetizer, very nice, creamy with a Mexican taste heritage. Entree was duck with braised cabbage, mushrooms and parsnip puree, very tasty but didn’t care for the bland puree. Desert was cherry crisp with berries and a crunchy vanilla ice cream, cherries were perfect and the crunch of the crisp and ice cream were a good synergy. Overall one of the better restaurants in charlottesville area

Duner's is my favorite restaurant, by far. The food is exceptional, as is the service. Bar staff takes good care of you, as well.

It's been years since we went to Duners and we were a bit disappointed. We made a reservation to celebrate our anniversary which was never acknowledged during our visit. Service was prompt but lacking. No one asked how our meal was, server's recommendations were weak and no one offered crushed ground pepper so I though all that was available was the pepper on the table. Salmon was delicious although we weren't crazy about the risotto cake. Fettuccine was good but not great...lots of shrimp. Crushed black pepper would have helped also with mushroom soup. Dessert was fantastic and the server was more friendly.

We had a light dinner--soup and salad. The mushroom soup and the gumbo both were excellent, and the salad and bread always are good. Kayla was our server, and she was excellent. Excellent food, excellent service, and a very friendly staff.

This is a difficult review to write. We love Duners. It's our favorite restaurant. We had not been there for several months due to holidays and health issues. We went for our 40th anniversary dinner. This was noted on the reservation. What a massive disappointment. We were seated at a tiny table for two by a noisy workstation used by the servers. The wait staff was pleasant but unattentive. Perhaps a shortage of servers that evening. But the food was uncharacteristically awful. We have had the mussels appetizer many many times and have loved all of the variations. It could not have been blander. We ate maybe half of them. My steak was cooked correctly but was very tough with minimal sauce and difficult to eat. My wife's lamb shank had three bites of meat. The mashed potatoes were scooped out like you would get at a diner. I had four green beans. The presentation was messy and unappealing. We were never asked if we enjoyed our meal. The table next to us was also discussing how poor the food was. The man barely ate his meal and did not take it home. The woman barely ate her food but did take it home. The wait staff did not react to the couple not eating their meals. No mention of our anniversary. We left the restaurant very disappointed and frankly very confused. What has happened to our favorite restaurant? I can only hope the restaurant was having a bad evening.
