While pizza and pasta are just the tip of the Italian iceberg, there is a reason these two culinary staples are the most beloved exports from Italy. Enjoy our seasonal selection just steps away from where our expert pasta chefs and dough-slinging pizzaioli (pizza makers) create dishes before your eyes.

Our waitress was exceptional. They were experiencing a problem with the kitchen and the food was delayed coming out for everyone. She managed that well and communicated well. The atmosphere seemed tensed and chaotic due to the kitchen delays. You can tell the wait staff was frustrated. As far as the food, the appetizers were delicious. Our entrees were presented well but bland. The kids menu is limited to pizza or penne, although you can order the pizza in 3 different shapes. We will definitely give it another chance.

Extremely disappointed. I've eaten at Eataly in Manhattan. There is a world of difference between that experience and the Eataly at Short Hills Mall experience. The menu is very limited and incredibly ordinary. And consisted primarily of pasta dishes and "gourmet" pizzas. Food quality was nothing beyond what you would find at the Olive Garden. However, the price per entree was certainly more expensive than the Olive Garden. We were two adults. Our dining experience consisted of mineral water, two cocktails, two appetizers, two pasta entrees, two desserts and two double expressos with Sambuca. The final bill was in excess of $250. Far too expensive for the quality of the food, the lack of ambiance and middling service. We waited over 40 minutes for our entree. So long that the maitre de came over to apologize. With regard to the ambiance, or lack of same. The dining experience was again no better than you would find at an Olive Garden.

I love Eataly and I recognize that this is a new restaurant. I think that they need to do a better job at training their staff. The tables are VERY close together, so the servers are trying not to speak loudly because it could interfere with another table and therefore it is hard for them to get the order right. Additionally, I encourage all of the wait staff to use something to write down the items. Lastly, if someone orders pizza and another pasta, they need to do a better job with timing the pizza with the menu food. We waited an additional 15 minutes for personal pizza when the food was delivered to me rather quickly. I encourage them to put in the pizza order, wait 10 - 15 minutes then put in the other food. Also, we had to wait an additional 15 minutes because the waiter did not specify that it was a gluten free pizza. I know that Eataly is just getting its footing, but I encourage them to space out tables because my party was WAY too close to the people next to me sitting and it is nearly impossible to squeeze in to eat while others are eating. I love Eataly, and I will come back, but I know they can do better.

We have been to Eataly both in Soho and Boston and have eaten at both. We enjoyed being able to Eataly closer to our home. For lunch today we had the Burata con Caponata. The burrata was creamy and deliciious and the caponata was well seasoned and enhanced the burrata experience. We had an order of Ravioli di Zucca. The pasta was sublime, the butter and sage sauce lightly coated the pasta that was tender with a flavorful butternut squash filling. We also order the Baccala (pan-seared cod) over roasted butternut squash. The serving portion was a good size and we perfectly roasted. The accompanying butternut squash was a nice contrast to the code. Our server was lovely and personable and made our dining experience enjoyable. We'll be back.

I have dine at Eataly in NYC countless time and i have to say the food taste is not the same. Pasta a big undercook. Service could have done better.

Very disappointing. Bar service was excellent but bartender was very limited to what was on their specials menu. Meatballs were excellent so we ordered another for the three of us. Instead of just giving us one more small piece of focaccia the waiter added an order of bread that we didn’t want. Pasta portions are VERY small and on the dry side. The chocolate mousse was disappointing with dry cake in the middle. That’s not mousse! Our server was hard to find, like he didn’t want to be there. It’s a shame. Was hoping, expecting an experience, food quality and service like the Manhattan locations, but very disappointing. Too bad. Do NOT waste your time or money. Go to Legal Seafood instead. This restaurant won’t last here. Bring back Joe’s American Bar & Grill. Still the best restaurant to occupy the location.

It was our first visit of the location. It was not as large and selections not as good as the NYC downtown shop that we visited many times. However, we did not have to negotiate with the holiday traffic in the New Year's eve was a great plus. As SHort Hills is about 40-min drive for us. we likely will come in the future. The night at the restaurant was a pleasant experience. The food was wonderful. Eataly never dissappointed us. Thank you for making the reservation process quick and easy also!

We enjoyed our visit. The hosts could have been more friendly and could have let us know how long to wait. We had a reservation, they checked us in and said go wait in that line. Our waitress was very good. The pizza was excellent. The atmosphere was a bit loud.
